The referendum in Crimea was free, legal and fair. The inhabitants of Crimea (80% Russians) did not want to live in Nazi Ukraine. According to the results of the referendum, 95.6% (262,041 voters) in Sevastopol and 96.77% (1,233,002 voters) in Crimea voted for joining the Russian Federation. The voter turnout was 89.5% and 83.1% respectively. Western sociological services have confirmed the results of the will of the Crimeans. Non-recognition of the results of the referendum by the NATO countries was regarded by Russia as an anti-democratic disrespect for the people's will.

@markbrunner9081 "Peaceful transfer of power"? Do you know absolutely nothing? During the "peaceful transition of power" on Maidan-2014, 128 people were killed in the central square of the capital of Ukraine. No one investigated this massacre, there was no trial. Is it a democracy?
11
It was American espionage for Ukraine.

Every journalist has a duty to listen and present to listeners/readers/viewers positions of both sides. American and Ukrainian journalists do not do this.
8
@markbrunner9081 : "the massacre of the Maidan should be investigated". - Please do! And don't forget the massacre in Odessa. 9 years passed and no signs.

@antoniononesco7303 How about Crimea and Donbass people? Do they have the rights fro self determination?
7
Local Crimeans are ordinary citizens of Russia. They have been fighting against Ukraine in the Donbas for a long time.
6
@punapeter Yes, this is a correct confession: "Yes, now NATO is helping the Nazis now"
6
@markbrunner9081 Go ahead!

Yes, you read my mind. It would be fair to invite Russian journalist to make "hard talk style" interview with President Biden.
3
Drone did espionage for Ukraine.

@YuriTheFriendlyRussian Don't be cruel, keep Biden alive.
2
@YuriTheFriendlyRussian Margarita Simonyan is a right person to take such an interview with Joe Biden.
2
The referendum in Crimea was free, fair and legal. 82% of the population was in favor of reunification with Russia. The West has shown arrogant disrespect for people opinion, which is why the Crimeans hate the US and NATO.
2
@The_._._Truth I'm writing from St.Petersburg, if you wish. What do you think, would't it be great to invite Russian journalist to make "hard talk style" interview with President Biden. Just to have diplomatic balance. We have some smart guys working for RT.

The most probable intermediate result of this war will be as follows:. Russia will occupy the claimed 4 regions on the left bank of the Dnieper, push Ukrainian troops to the right bank, and will use missiles at targets on the rest of Ukraine. Russia will not sign any peace treaty, freeze the conflict will the next attack. It will be a very heavy defeat for Ukraine and NATO.

The Ukrainian government prohibits foreign journalists and international organizations from visiting Crimea under the threat of criminal prosecution. For eight years I have not seen the reports done by Americans. Only lies from outside. In the meanwhile visiting Crimea was free for foreigners within all 8 years. If you ant to know what's is going on in Crimea, go and see. Russia is democratic country, Ukraine - not. This is what this war is about.

@lostpony4885 According to sociologists, 82% of Crimeans, are "collaborators". They are Russians and the want to live in Russia.

@vitalucas9452 In Russia, everything is fine with freedom of information. Yes, Russia's state-owned media express the interests of the government. But in addition to them, Russians have free access to the BBC, Deutsche Welle, Voice of America, and a dozen other Western propaganda media that broadcast in Russian. Note that we are now on the American NBC channel, which is available in the Russian Federation. And now Russia has a war, but even now Western propaganda is available in RF. while RT in the USA is banned

@markbrunner9081 Your dream contains a false statement, so it will not come true.
1
@Truth-Channel2024 Biden would never agree. Не is even afraid of joint press conference or communique, though it is s diplomatic norm.

That was Eltsin
