Yeah linux phones are pretty good i hope they improve

@kxdsh no it wouldn't. You could get permission from someone who isn't responsible for examining the code and then do it
2
The linux kernal has multiple maintainers and they could tell one maintainer that there doing it and get permission then the others ask permission another time from a different maintainer and do it again and again
2
@happygimp0 harm was done they needlessly wasted a ton of there time and could have potentially gotten dangerous code into new kernels and again there would have been some way to get permission some way it might be difficult but it could be done

@mohamedbelafdal6362 I don't think so since a the librem 5 for example has a weak processor but it's incredibly fast because the software is so well optimized if they did that it wouldn't be as well optimized. Secondly the price on them were mostly so high because of the ridiculous amount of effort into developing software i think that the next linux phone they make will likely be far cheaper due to not spending as much on the software. And google seems to be making it progressively harder and harder to install a new os

@mohamedbelafdal6362 people had the same thoughts about linux a while ago but now linux seems to be imo better than windows

Maybe
1
Why
1
Except they didn't ask permission and put code that was malicious to waste there time
1
@bigmistqke it never entered the codebase smh they just wasted a bunch of there time unreasonably
1
But they didn't ask permission
1
@danieljonsson8095 not really?
1
@danieljonsson8095 how
1
@danieljonsson8095 not really again there are multiple maintainers as long as you don't have the one your testing it on know its fine. I think mental outlaw described what i mean pretty well in another one if his videos about this subject
1
@danieljonsson8095 you can test all maintainers ask one when maintainer and test all the others wait some time then ask another that you already did it on and do the first one
1
@danieljonsson8095 i doubt that just get them to not tell the other maintainers it isn't that complicated
1
@danieljonsson8095 simple shoot anyone who you think will tell the other maintainers
1
@danieljonsson8095 ok then ask the maintainer for permission then shoot all of them and test it
1
@danieljonsson8095 you test the other maintainers just shoot the one that you asked permission from so they can't tell people about the test. you get permission and they can't tell anyone win win
1
@danieljonsson8095 clone them and slightly alter then dna so they won't tell other people then shoot them some more and clone them again
1
@douwehuysmans5959 yeah good idea
1
But they don't have to they can just tell a lead developer or someone not reviewing the code that there doing it and the people reviewing the code won't know until there done reviewing the code
1
@happygimp0 also linux has multiple maintainers so you can ask one maintainer then test the other maintainers then later ask another maintainer and test the first maintainer so your wrong
1
They should have asked permission
1
@A_Box the university itself wasn't anonymous and they were submitting the code with there trusted accounts
1
@A_Box why
1
@saintjezebel from what i heard its there actually trusted gmail accounts from there network
1
What distro are you attempting to use nvidia doesn't have very good support so you would probably be better going with manjaro or pop os and making sure its using the nvidia version
