  1. I don't see a problem with the gov't protecting its divers. Sending them into water that's obviously got rotting bodies, rust and all kinds of oil and fluids from vehicles in it is PROBABLY not a great idea in the first place.

  4.  @twist2723  They have gear that protects them from fire, smoke inhalation, etc. Diving suits/wet suits only protect you from the cold, not from the contents of the water, cuts or abrasions from rusted metal (requiring booster shots against lockjaw), etc.
