Tim is working in a minimum wage job at 40+ years of age. I don't think anything he said had any merit actually. Most of it sounded like him making excuses about his own situation.

That was less luck and more him creating opportunities and exploiting them with hard work when they were presented. Some people might call that luck I guess. Others would call it what you have to do in order to make it in the business world. You can't be successful on your own, you have to network.

@Senseoftumour They do. They are MINIMUM WAGE to buy 3 meals a day and have a roof over your head. They are meant for 18 year olds to get a first job, learn some marketable skills and move on. Not for bottom feeders to sit in for the rest of their life.
19
She's also the youngest one there. Minimum wage jobs were MADE for people like her to get a foothold, create some marketable skills and move on.

@ggez3933 You do realize minimum wage is there just as a foothold for 18 year old kids to get some job experience and move on, right? It was never meant to be a living wage. If you're over 25 and still in a minimum wage job then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

@jackwright3996 Yet another person that doesn't get it. Minimum wage IS THE MINIMUM. If you raise it then inflation raises to match and you're right back where you were. The only difference is the small business owners get destroyed and the medium businesses struggle. People on salaries can't keep up with inflation and end up struggling also. All so some burger flipper can get paid more per hour than their skills are worth. Absolutely not. If you want a better paying job, make yourself more marketable and GET A BETTER PAYING JOB.

@dustinthewind4999 Every wage that an employer pays is so they can make money. That's... why they are in business, doorknob. If you can't get the wage you want at one job, you look for another job JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Why would I feel sorry for people that have zero motivation to get a better paying job? They deserve to make the same wages forever then. Whether it's livable or not. THAT IS THEIR CHOICE.
7
@jackwright3996 Scurry away. Bye bye. There's literally nothing you can say that would make any sense nor disprove that inflation would go crazy if minimum wage was increased... just like it has over and over.
7
@dustinthewind4999 Yeah, that's the problem. They are sitting in dead-end jobs making minimum wage and we're supposed to want to turn the entire nation's economy upside down so they can feel like they are making more money... for like a year before inflation catches back up? No thanks. They can do what everyone else does and find a better paying job.
6
@miguelboisvert7375 No, they want to believe success is a dream that isn't worth achieving, that minimum wage should be $100 an hour and lollipops should grow on bushes.
6
@jackwright3996 Inflation rates would absolutely double if not triple the year they increase minimum wage. Just like it did the last couple times. No, lol. I'm not "confusing" any portion of this very simple equation. More MINIMUM wage = More inflation and the economy catches up very quickly. Just like it has the last couple times the minimum wage went up. Ugh.. I'm not going to explain this. There are very simple explanations of how the economy works online.

@zweilee8514 Oh.. wow. Raising minimum wage does nothing but hurt small business owners and make medium businesses suffer. Then we, the rest of the nation that actually WORKED to be marketable and learn job skills to get better paying jobs... end up being the ones that are hurt when our pay doesn't go up, but we have to pay more for basic things since some kind with his finger up his nose wants more money to do jobs my dog could be trained to do.

@dustinthewind4999 I'm not a company.

@crypticcryptid4702 Inflation goes crazy when the minimum wage goes up... what is so hard to understand about this. Prices go up because businesses have to pay their employees more, which drives up costs, which they pass on to customers. Everyone gets hit and the resulting inflation of cost of living ends up plateauing.... where? Oh, right... back where it was with minimum wage still around the same monetary worth that it was before. Except now instead of $5.00 for a burger it's $8.00 or $10.00. All that so someone with zero motivation can look at their check and think they're making more money when the actually aren't, but everyone else gets hurt? This is common sense...
4
@d.j.wellington LOL. If you really think I got destroyed on the topic of why minimum wage shouldn't go up, then you have zero common sense to even support the issue to begin with.
4
@zweilee8514 If he's working minimum wage on purpose, then why is he whining about it in this forum? Then go work minimum wage quietly and be happy about it.
4
You do realize there are disabled millionaires..... right? Stop making blanket assumptions about people.
3
@cloudydays603 LoL. Just stop. You could have just said to yourself "he's right" and not commented.

@erincarr9411 "Many people who have skills and work hard have minimum wage jobs" Uhhh.. no, they really don't. Unless they are felons or something.
2
It literally is the same for everyone. Not everyone can dedicate themselves to the work and hours that it takes to get there. I know I can't.
2
Get woke, go broke. Dude is STILL sitting in a minimum wage job at 40 years old.
2
It all depends on your goals. If you want to be a MILLIONAIRE then there's more to it than just hard work. If you're trying to make a comfortable living, hard work will get you there.

You might want to watch the clip again. That's not the actual quote.
