  1. AFU was mainly trained on Russian/ Soviet weapons. Their transition to western weapons without adequate training leaves them vulnerable. Moreover, AFU is an inferior army compared to Russian MoD. In addition MoD is a highly discipline, highly motivated & resilient army. They are not made up of conscripts like the AFU. High casualty rate among AFU has also eroded moral. These are the major causes of AFU's failure on the battlefield.
