If NATO top leadership, US, UK, France & Italy decide to deploy troops in Ukraine, Germany will have to join or else Scholz will be forced to resign and another person who will comply with NATO directive will take over. Germany is actually not an independent nation, US military bases are many there. They will not be able to resist for long if NATO decides to cross Russia's red line.
