  4. Dinner looked good and Finn is just a gorgeous dog. Where does he sleep? We got stopped by snow trying to get to a lake yesterday... it was wet and slushy, and very slippery. We went morel hunting instead of fishing. Have fun on the island!

  6. GREAT video. Your shelter looks fantastic! If you like roasted pepperoni, try roasted salami - get those edges crispy and the fat melts off and .... YUM. You have a great channel and I learn a lot from you. If I'm ever stuck in the woods, I want to bring YOUR videos to mind!

  7. When you build a fire, wherever you are immediately becomes "home for the night" instead of a random, scary place in the woods. Great video. If I ever face this scenario, I'll just pretend to be you and do what you would do. 'What would Kusk Bushcraft do in this situation?" Cheers!

  8. Lessons: always carry a paper map, GPS and something like a Garmin InReach Mini. Don't change camps in the dark. Tell someone where you are going. Carry extra gas and extra food. When you're lost STOP MOVING and "hug a tree". The reason I carry so much gear in my truck is exactly because I'm afraid of getting lost like you did! Mushroom hunting and fishing are two of my favorite things to do outdoors. Joe seems like a good friend. What a difficult adventure! Glad you're safe.
