It could be something to do with the NHS being underfunded and starved of 100,000 staff due to poor working conditions and low pay. 1 in 10 Brits are on the NHS waiting list and so many of those who could have been cured, weren't seen in time.

@stephenosunkeye9730 Adults talking. Taxes on cigarettes net around 10 billion per annum in the UK. That's around 1/8th of the NHS budget... Smokers pay for themselves, try again...

@knockedoutloaded What job did you have? were you a door to the emergency room? I can't believe you can say the NHS isn't underfunded when the figures are easy to check. NHS funding was higher over a decade ago under Labour in real terms (adjusted for inflation and increase in population).

@anacc3257 I was correcting an ignorant comment. As I'm forced to do again. Drinking causes far more harm to people and costs the NHS far more so I don't see the relevance of you repeating a moot point... ...to think you could have typed something intelligent or witty...

@ministryoflies1344 Agreed mate, Indeed the NHS while neglected and underfunded has given life and taken care of almost every Brit in the past 70 years. Most people don't seem to understand that even the most standard needs of a hospital things like Birth are incredibly expensive in places without free healthcare. Costs about 6k to give birth in the US. God help anyone who has a terminal disease as it's time to remortgage.

@babalonkie Agreed on all points.

@Bevrinton Between 2010 when Tories took power and 2019: The rate of extra investment has fallen by 68%. 16,481 fewer beds in hospitals. 66 A&E and Maternity wards closed. 103 NHS Walk in centres closed or downgraded. 60 ambulance stations closed. 1,000 GP practices closed. 5,000 less Mental Health Nurses. The number of NHS beds has halved between 1987 and 2019 I hope none of your family ever need medical care...

@Bevrinton lol you sound like a thick Tory sycophant. So no point me trying to use logic, facts and reason as you've already proven. The cuts and loss of funds have screwed the NHS, people like you. Have fun when its privatised and you have to mortgage your house to treat your illness...
