@kevinb6831 It's thanks to human ingenuity we have this platform, competition caused by capitalism has dragged us down. We invented the wheel, harnessed fire, learned democracy, literacy and invented all the base technologies that capitalism exploits long before capitalism came along. But thanks for intellectually defecating cognitive diarrhoea on social media...

@kevinb6831 You're not big on geopolitics or you'd know any successful socialist country has embargoes, sanctions, blockades slapped on it so it can't compete fairly. Venezuela's oil for example is held hostage by the American military and sanctions that stop them from importing vital chemicals to refine oil. You'd also be aware of the history of US interference in South America in the past century. No doubt you're also aware that Libya had a socialist system (The Green System), they also had no IMF or international debt, $150 billion in the bank, built the world's largest irrigation project and every citizen had a share in the oil. They also had job equality and the legal right to a home, so no homelessness. But then after deciding to create an African currency(The Dinar) backed by 143 tons of gold to rival the petrodollar for oil sales suddenly they needed some good old US freedom (Regime change). That freedom left the country in poverty with human trafficking and human slavery running rampant. Strange how right-wing sponges just repeat memes...

@terminsane I'm not advocating socialism, I'd advocate a resource-based economy with eco-friendly tech and sustainable resources preferably designed for our modern lifestyle. Capitalism exploits the 5-year-olds mining Cobalt in DR Congo, the 8-year-olds in China making your mobile phone with that cobalt and the Indian children working in sweatshops to provide your clothing. Feel free to tell the children exploited for you that hard work pays... Communism, Socialism and Social Democracy are three different social systems, two of which are replacements of capitalism. If you aren't capable of debate try keeping your ineptitude to yourself.

@kevinb6831 It's logical as socialism is a replacement of capitalism doh! But the free market isn't free if you're cut off from it. PS It's social democracy that is the version of socialism that works in capitalism and provides the highest quality of life, pensions and medical care in the world. Check Sweden, Norway, Finland etc for examples. The nordic model of Social Democracy. Sponge... PS if someone bombs your country, loots your savings of $150 billion, 143 tons of gold, 100+ tons of silver, natural resources - oil, lithium etc by lying to the international community and then waging war on civilians leaving them enslaved, you really shouldn't defend that with 'meh capitalism'... America refused to compete in a free market against a strong rival and instead murdered the rival by deciet to protect US dollar hegemony...

Just examples of capitalists waging war unlawfully against a legit economic rival, because America can't solve its own problems, can't even provide clean water for Flint, safe schools for kids or an educated populous. @crown9413 Democrats have been taken over by neoliberals since the Reagan years. The Democrat leadership is controlled so that corporate-friendly warmongers get into office. Flint isn't the only example of poor water quality in the US, it's national. Nordic socialism has given those countries decent pensions, the large welfare state and medical care, not to mention worker's rights. No one said they weren't capitalist countries, I explained what Social Democracy is already. I've also done the argument regarding socialism ie embargoes, sanctions, blockades, military use to enforce regime change and steal the country's wealth. Not going to do circular arguments.

@crown9413 PS Social Democracy played a huge role in Britain after the second world war. A Labour government rebuilt the country providing social housing to replace slums, medical care so children didn't die of curable diseases and a welfare state to provide a safety net for the ill, disabled and unemployed. They also nationalised the bank of England, coal, steel, transport, energy etc giving people cheaper goods and a stake in the country's success. Later governments reversed much of that but we still have free healthcare, public transport, public libraries, free schooling, legal aid, worker's rights, human rights thanks to Social Democracy and the Attlee government.

Your economic knowledge seems limited as you fail to understand Fractional Reserve Banking and the con of a debt-based society. Your capitalist programming is dogmatic and makes you believe fallacy over reality. Trying to put words in my mouth based on your own flawed understanding of the topic is childlike. Capitalism has cost us over 65% of global genetic diversity at 1,000 times the rate of natural extinction and costs millions of lives per annum in resource wars alone. Let alone the fallout of industrial accidents, or the escalation of flooding, wildfires and extreme weather. I've had a wonderful debate, but this wasn't it!

@crown9413 It's the Democratic Republic of Congo, the clue is in the name... IE It's a Democratic Republic which means democracy without a hereditary King or Queen... China has the most billionaires in 2021, because they embraced capitalism. Communism is a replacement of capitalism. There are no billionaires or dictators in a communist system because the people run the country and there is no monetary economy. Communism and Socialism are very different and are both replacements of capitalism, Social Democracy and Democratic Socialism are the only systems that have Socialist ideology within a capitalist marketplace. Now please stop elaborating on your ignorance by typing...

@crown9413 No Socialism and Communism are two different systems based on the writings of Marx and Engels. Democratic Socialism is socialist ideals used within a capitalist construct. Socialism is the end goal of Socialism and Democratic Socialism whereas Social Democracy fits in a capitalist world with no goal of moving to socialism. China was in a transitory state from a form of communism towards full-blown capitalism but that's now met with them having the largest economy outside the US. But the US has dollar hegemony backed by a gun. China owns over $1 trillion of US debt. PS you seem to have forgotten me mentioning China has more billionaires than the US, the true test of advanced capitalism...
