All the profits from our once nationally owned railways is being used to upgrade and modernize the national transport systems of other countries in Europe. Thanks to privatization and an extremely short-sighted, myopic government.

@Bungle-UK I've followed the privatisation, profits, owners of our rail networks, bailouts, failures and price increases since Thatcher brought in privatisation. Not to mention it is a common feature of all privatised industries. Maybe you should learn about legislation, ideology, politics, economics and stop posting mind-numbing inanity...

@matthewwatt2295 Agreed, and we already paid once for the infrastructure, then again through price increases and then again through bailouts. They'll renationalise with taxpayer money, then sell it off again as they've done with other parts of the rail network. It's unbelievable that the public put up with this.
