The reason journalists are targeted have always been the same. To stop them exposing truth...

Government: Pay us taxes and we'll build national infrastructures such as roads, hospitals, schools, police stations, parks and industry. Citizens: Ok that sounds fair. Government: We have to raise taxes to provide the same infrastructure we used to provide you as corporations aren't paying their share. Citizens: Erm... But the services are being run into the ground and now those tax-dodging corporations own all the infrastructure we paid for. Government: Yea, erm sorry about that, we would give you a share of the sales but we need it to offset subsidies we give to corporations. Citizens: Ever heard of a guillotine?

Tie their hands, fill the NHS with for-profit organisations, and then blame the staff... Truly a sickening betrayal of the British people by the Tories...
515
"I'm a fighter, not a quitter." That aged well in only 24 hours...

I have no confidence in the Tories getting rid of Johnson. No matter how bad he is, they have no one to replace him. They are such an inept group that they can't find someone more palatable to the public than a criminal who lies all the time...

Thanks to the Tories for taking us back to the Dickensian era... I'm sure Rees-Mogg feels right at home...
297
Corporations making bumper profits, the Tories are all wealthy yet the poor get poorer. It's almost as if there is a directly proportional connection between wealth and poverty...

Energy production should be a priority for the government. Instead, the Tories sold it all off under the guise of privatisation and now we have a cartel extorting the British people. The government also cut funding for renewables and took us out of the EU where we had cheaper prices as part of a trading block. This is a serious situation that has been allowed to happen by our reliance on other nations to meet much of our energy needs. Completely avoidable if we were self-sufficient in energy...
233
Lots of Tory donors, ex-MPs and aids have been given prominent positions in the BBC in the past few years. Manufactured crisis after crisis and who profits from taxpayer money?
223
To fear someone with integrity and compassion shows how far Labour has fallen. 'Real change'? Red or blue neoliberalism...
195
The NHS already has a shortfall of 40,000 nurses, the Government are responsible. Nurses will just move to Australia and get an extra 33% on their wages...

What have we learned from day one? That Rishi has no plan for the economy and is willing to hand our national security over to someone who last week was a security risk!
161
So Brexit and xenophobic sovereignty caused a shortage of HGV drivers, the solution to relax immigration rules to attract more EU HGV drivers? lol you couldn't make it up...
140
He unintentionally said things he knew to be misleading like he mistook a large group of people drinking as not-a-party and when he didn't realise he was breaking the regulations he implemented...

I'm glad the Etonian is going, But what really makes me sick. Is knowing he'll be replaced By another useless...
107
Or you could take it out of the £100 billion in taxpayer money given annually to tax-dodging corporations in corporate welfare and subsidies.
102
"Fair and based on merit" or as we like to say bribes and cronyism.

I'm just glad Boris laid out exactly what he wanted from the report before Sue Gray started. Could have been embarrassing If Boris hadn't and totally not a conflict of interest...
87
Strikes are simply a side-effect of the real problems. What percentage of the NHS budget now goes to managers, admin and shareholders? That is the real problem.
84
A musical genius and a bard of Shakespearian levels. A Welsh lad made good and did it for the most part on his own while struggling with illness. Good luck to Ren in the future I'm glad to see he's getting the recognition he deserves!
83
@stanthemafia Britain is an international laughing stock, we have 1 in 10 on the NHS waiting lists, over 1/3rd of the workforce in poverty, many people having to choose between food and energy. A government pushing through legislation that diminishes your human rights, seriously if you aren't ashamed you aren't paying attention...
82
Every solution to any problem the Tories produce just costs the taxpayer and is unworkable. When will people realise they have their own agenda and it isn't philanthropy...
80
Boris is about as much use as a rubber beak to a woodpecker. Any similarity between Boris and a human is purely coincidental. He has diarrhoea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. Doesn’t know the meaning of the word decency but then again he doesn’t know the meaning of most words.
76
Johnson faces criticism? but he's done such an outstanding job pretending to be a grownup for the past few years...
72
He's responsible for lots of the economic decisions of the past couple of years including the £37 billion for test and trace...
71
It's almost as if the profit being generated from the industry the taxpayer paid for is never enough...Time to cut out the middlemen, shareholders, management on huge salaries and layers of unnecessary admin...
70
Rishi says his compassionate party will continue to defend the poorest and most vulnerable in society... By cutting PIP payments? Reducing the NHS budget? Crashing the economy? The usual lies from the Tories. They will protect the most vulnerable with as much compassion as they protected the vulnerable in care homes during the pandemic...
70
Or we could just carry on dying from economic euthanasia while allowing the rich to limit our lives and ruin the planet...
59
The squeeze on the poor continues. Economic euthanasia for the masses...
58
RIP 10,000+ children...
58
Voter suppression. Anyone who pays taxes in the UK is entitled to vote and already has a government ID in multiple forms National Insurance Number, Driving License, HMRC account, County Council accounts, GovUK account etc...
57
The US has had over 200 mass shootings this year alone. We have a population of 68 million in Britain and mass shootings are rare, the first and last school shooting we had was in 1996 in Dunblane. 16 children and one teacher were dead with at least 17 others injured. It was a major issue and an investigation was started by parliament. In December 1997 the House of Commons voted by a wide margin for Labour Party legislation to effectively ban all handguns, over 160,000 were handed in. Lots of people still own guns in Britain but mainly for sport and hunting and they abide by strict rules on licensing, storage and usage. America's problem is how highly the second amendment is regarded and the gun lobby, but hopefully they go down the same route as us.

Hold conference? abuse claims? He'd have been tried and locked up by now If he wasn't a member of the shallow end of the British gene pool and from an anaemic, archaic bloodline...
55
The talented, hard-working, beautiful pride of Britain playing tennis with the wife of some bloke called William...
54
If they whole truth was known Israel would be facing the same restrictions Germany faced in and after 1945...
51
The same prognosis as under Johnson. We are fooked!
50
To be fair the way the Tories have ignored experts and blundered their way through this crisis, I'd let Frank Spencer have a go at this point...
48
The phrase "Patel Commited" at the start of the sentence really got my hopes up!
48
You have a job that pays 80k a year and then earn 1 million on the side after saying the position is not about enriching yourself... Hoisted on your own petard...
46
Profiting from the suffering and loss of life... This has changed the game, we can't rely on corporations, that should be obvious to anyone now...
42
Toxic everything with Tories from personality to policy. Kick them out and then investigate every decision, policy and action they've taken over the past 13 years!
41
Dying of hypothermia is indeed generally classed as a very difficult winter...
41
Members of that archaic, anaemic bloodline spawned from the shallow and murky end of the British gene pool and their privileges...
41
@AnaInTh3Sky Agreed 100%, Thacher and Reagan and their Neoliberalism is the reason most countries can't afford the infrastructure and have debt to GDP ratio of almost if not over 100%. Before the 80s all our infrastructure was nationalised and profits went back into upgrades and cheaper prices. Now those profits find their way out of the UK to Bermuda and the accounts of shareholders.
39
Agreed, although despite the inherent flaws in capitalism, the system isn't broken, it works perfectly for billionaires and kleptocratic parasites.
38
Because privatisation has been such a success... They call it privatisation but it's just feeding the private sector cash and the public always end up footing the bill... Rail, Water, Energy you name it we end up paying for private-sector profits and the service always suffers.
37
The Tories spending our money on their engineered crisis? just process them and reduce the backlog. Stop creating problems that cost us our public services and healthcare while taking backhanders.
34
@captainshakesbeard2453 Ukraine only happened this year and fuel prices have gone up excessively in the past 2 years... Care to explain the increased debt and lower living standards for the past 4 decades in which Neoliberalism has been the predominant factor in the west?
33
I'm just glad we have such honest, reliable and responsible people running the country. I mean, imagine if they were all just out for themselves and put profits before people?
33
He couldn't win a goldfish at the fair. The only reason he's PM is because of the previous failed PMs that have been removed.
