Comments by "Steve Parker" (@steveparker8065) on "Nurses’ strikes: NHS declares ‘critical incidents’ as government and unions refuse to budge" video.
The NHS already has a shortfall of 40,000 nurses, the Government are responsible. Nurses will just move to Australia and get an extra 33% on their wages...

dani cali Not me lol, Brexit was the equivalent of cancelling your direct debits, defaulting on your mortgage, throwing your mobile phone in the bath while it's charging, setting fire to your house, driving your car into the canal and then running off into the woods half-naked screaming "I'm the wild man of Britain, hear me roar!"...

@Scintillated The WHO predicted that amount 3 months ago when they referenced it as a "ticking timebomb"... Tories are doing this on purpose as they usually do.

@barriewilliams4526 I'm just so overwhelmingly grateful that Brexit has improved the lives of Brits all over the Union. How smooth the transition was and how quickly all the border, import and export issues were solved. I was especially pleased with how little money was spent on administration and how the UK's standing improved on the global stage, especially in Europe. There were virtually no financial losses and the pound kept soaring ever higher. The UK has become unified and we all feel a closer kinship with the world. It was like a dream come true and there were hardly any teething problems as you'd expect with such a huge endeavour. Not to mention the extra investment we now provide the NHS as a result. The Tories protected the GFA at all costs. They made a plan right at the beginning and stuck to it all the way through, for a seamless transition, without aggravating a precarious peace. While implementing border controls that were easy to understand and smooth sailing for all involved. So glad we didn't lose any of the trading deals and relationships that took decades to build. An all-around success story for the UK. Now all that's left to do is to sit back and enjoy all those wonderful benefits with a nice cup of Sovereign Tea and a trip to the sunlit uplands to feed my Unicorns...

@robjose888 I read a nurse in a £23,000 a year position would get roughly the equivalent of £36,000, But that's from memory so no worries I could be wrong.

@Guney1886 Nurses are fully aware of that, from the unique perspective of the inside. But agreed, 2012 health care reforms stated any body could apply for contracts. Since then the NHS contracts have been predominantly going to for-profit providers. Our taxes going to shareholders. Tory modus operandi.

@Scintillated Again agreed, Not to mention the lack/restrictions on nurses' bursaries are putting students off. We should be encouraging people going into nursing and encouraging nurses from abroad to come to the UK. The Tories have done the exact opposite.

@cole0889 B-eat the rich!

@Scintillated Agreed mate. But we have to use the forces at airports as those trouble-making geriatrics escaping to warmer climbs to avoid winter fuel bills get pretty raucous!

@YanksandBritsProductions lol if you're a Brit you were birthed for free instead of your parents paying 8k assuming a normal birth without complications. You've no doubt been given vaccinations and treated medically during your life and so made a profit on the small amount of your taxes that go to the NHS... A complicated illness will cost your mortgage in the US as I'm sure you're aware. Long-term conditions, the same. The problem is indeed the profiteering off our health care...

@thegoat11111 lol best you got? There are many countries they can earn an extra 3rd or more. Things are more expensive? lol pathetic...

@PA-lf8sd You don't read much do you? "Rishi Sunak said he won’t back down in a pay dispute with National Health Service staff that is leading nurses and ambulance drivers to go on strike" There are multiple articles proving the Health Secretary also blames Rishi such as "Minister refuses to deny Rishi Sunak blocked path to break deadlock on nurses strike" Alos read up on the 2012 Health and Social care act and the 2022 changes. Which allow for-profit organisations to take a large slice of the NHS budget. It would seem you aren't even up to the level of a potato...

@patsmith8035 No it's not. Band 1 nurses get £21,318 after 6 years of experience. Band 3 nurses get £23,177 after 6 years of experience. They have to pay off the training costs of their education out of that. They can earn 50% more in many other countries that value the health of their citizens...

@patsmith8035 I hope you don't need any healing and care, suffer from disease, old age, infirmity or accidents... Nurses see more disturbing things than many soldiers on daily basis. Have some decency...

@patsmith8035 I'm glad you can afford it, I've been on an urgent waiting list for over a year. Buying my own medicine. There are managers on over £100,000 in the NHS who have no other problems than filling in forms. Blame the government, outsourcing and for-profit organisations that take much of the NHS funding. Shareholders are probably taking a larger share of the NHS funding than nurses.

@patsmith8035 I'm sorry for your problems, but I have to sleep sitting upright or stop breathing when my lungs fill with fluids. I'm in a catch 22 despite 3 trips to emergency and 12 trips to the GP I still can't get a diagnosis until I get my urgent appointment. After a year I'm still waiting. I still use logic to blame those responsible rather than stressed-out nurses doing 80 hours a week.
