  1. *Grave mistake, I assume typo. Neoliberalism which has been the main force in the western world since Thatcher and Reagan is very destructive. A small government which penny-pinches on social care while funnelling over £100 billion per annum to corporations in subsidies and corporate welfare, deregulation of the banking sector which reduces state influence on the economy. Using austerity and privatisation to further expand the poverty gap by siphoning taxpayer monies to the offshore accounts of the rich and infamous. Unfortunately, since Blair dropped clause 4 the Labour party has been taken over by Centrists/Neoliberals who no longer rely on union support but are now funded by corporate and state lobbyists. Which leaves the electorate with the overwhelming choice between red, yellow or blue flavoured neoliberalism. Lobbying is antithetical to democracy as we see by the enormous power of corporations to push through unpopular legislation via their puppets in office.
