Reasons: Overpriced big pharma contracts, sale of NHS land and assets, private finance debt, staff shortages, fewer hospitals, fewer beds, fewer ambulances, priority given to for-profit organisations for any new contracts. I'd be surprised if half the NHS funding goes on staff wages and treatment, the rest goes into debt repayment and shareholders' pockets...

  2.  @julianshepherd2038  No, they pay as much as 10x the price of generic medicines for brand names. There's a story from last year where firms were fined £70 million for overcharging the NHS. Feel free to do research...
