  1. Unless you inherit over £475,000 it won't affect you and the standard rate is already 40%. If you are set to inherit millions there are multiple ways to avoid it. I'm not a fan of Starmer but Labour has also suggested a wealth tax to replace inheritance tax, as wealth is not taxed, only working income is... I realise if they lower the threshold to £125k many more people will be affected, the problem is both sides are afraid to go after the wealthy and instead put pressure on the middle and lower classes.

Most people don't have a house worth that much, 19% of people are stuck with private landlords, and many others are stuck in council accommodation. I'm a Celt and so a native, I'm guessing you're an Anglo-Saxon, feel free to go back to Germany (Saxons), Normandy (Normans), Italy (Romans), Scandinavia (Vikings) or wherever your ancestors are from...
