@shakalakboom Shh, if you have nothing intelligent to type then save the internet your ignorance. The virus was a travesty but is just a symptom of a larger disease...
1
@shakalakboom You missed the point, everything I said went over your head and your word substitution was naive and dumb. Don't try and analyse me, I'm 51 and I've forgotten more than you will ever know. The media writes the script for society and we unconsciously play our part, with each psychological cue, each carefully chosen word and each handcrafted narrative to manifest the illusion. They predict the future and we become the self-fulfilling prophecy...
1
@Enigma lol you Americans aren't worth the time to type back to. It's like trying to talk a twinkie into sapience...
1
@maureen669 As an ex-cocktail barman who can juggle bottles and writes political satire I am. Pity you'll never get invited to any...

In the UK you can knock on a stranger's door for help or even just directions, no one walks around in fear of being shot. There are criminal gangs with guns but rarely do they shoot civilians. We also have guns for hunting, shooting as a sport etc. Tight regulations and careful procedures for the transport and storage of guns control the way they are used. We still have civilisation. America has lost its way to lobbyists and corporations...
1
@steadly3668 We have less than a tenth of the knife fatalities per 100,000 people the US has and less than 1% of the gun fatalities per 100,000 people. That is a direct comparison per person! So go look at some stats, the reason they are in the news is because we have a civilised society... Now go do some research and stop proving your ignorance and lack of wit!

Is the answer a huge rubber chicken that hides near the polling booths and jumps out and attacks people? Could be the Republicans, they have the most to gain as when you support the 1% you have to con the electorate into voting against their own best interests and block those most likely to vote democrat.
1
Not only is it cruel but feeding people diseased animals just leads to diseased humans, physically and psychologically.
1
@Hertz2laugh I understand your point, I really do but mass production is never cruelty-free. There are a few small farms that may produce more ethical products but they still have to kill the pigs and piglets to sell their product.

Stay woke was an African-American term the origins of which can be traced back to 1938 and the blues performer Lead Belly. It was a term used to warn African-Americans to be aware of social prejudice and their history of being marginalised and discriminated against. It became the shortened 'woke' during the civil rights movement and was simply a term to describe an African-American aware of their history. Now it has been hyped up by the media and the far right to include anything they don't like...
1
@Hertz2laugh Every country in the world has those problems. It's only the USA that has 260+ mass shootings a year... If I want to debate at your level I'll head for the nearest nursery school and engage the children there in debate...
1
@Hertz2laugh Do you have an off button or can I block you IRL? I'm not interested in debating with someone who obviously (by the lack of intellect and knowledge displayed in their comments) has an IQ lower than a crack-addicted, syphilitic hamster. Take your right-wing think tank tropes and biases to someone as gullible and naive as you are... If you climb the intellectual ladder a few more rungs, I may be able to drop down to your level for debate, but at the moment it's clear that debate is not only impossible but likely to lower my own IQ simply by reading your comments...
1
@golantrevize515 Agreed, That seems evident by the fact that this article was necessary in the beginning. I'm sure YT has removed my comments but having tried to communicate with the average joe on here I eventually revert to sarcasm and ad hominems. Not that I'm an academic of any kind, I'm a poor lad from a council estate who has grown to the grand old age of 50. This was my reply to the previous commenter "Do you have an off button or can I block you IRL? @jumpingoutofairplanesmentality lol, when you learn to spell the name of the city you wish to discuss, I may treat you with a modicum of respect. Until then I will just mock you as you are very unlikely to understand why you are the butt of many jokes globally as an American and an individual. It's clear from the misunderstanding and ignorance of your comment that debate would be about as intellectually stimulating as watching paint dry and about as useful as an ashtray on the international space station... PS thank you for not typing anything witty or intelligent!
1
@samueledison4676 He didn't use a gun ffs, are you sentient?
1
@samueledison4676 I've already pointed out that the US has a huge problem with mass killings compared to every sane country in the world. Stop talking nonsense, I'm not American and so have a decent education. "Every country in the world has those problems. It's only the USA that has 260+ mass shootings a year... If I want to debate at your level I'll head for the nearest nursery school and engage the children there in debate..." You also don't have to give up guns, if you're a responsible gun owner then you just need tougher gun controls. No weapons should be carried in public, guns should be locked up at home and transported unloaded in a locked trunk. There should be a waiting period and a proper check for criminal offences, especially violence. Since we legislated those rules in Britain we haven't had a school shooting in over 30 years...

I just wish we could find even more destructive, backward, inhumane ways to increase shareholder profits from the farming industry. Is there room for a little more cruelty? maybe we could just stick animals in their own diseased faeces and beat them relentlessly? oh no, we already do that. Maybe we could pump them full of drugs and toxins that stay in their system and end up in our food chain? nope, already do that too... and yes this is called sarcasm...
1
lol, I think IQ45 is too generous a nickname. I've met crack-addicted hamsters with a higher IQ :)

Cancel culture is a polarizing narrative created by the media to divide us. They promote the views of fringe groups to antagonize both sides of the political spectrum... Next!
1
@jackaljade The left don't use the term and I'm bored of your childlike understanding of the world. It's like trying to teach a frog to use an Xbox...
1
Trump indictment, more excitement, orange manchild, shame of mankind, running wild with orange smiles. Lock him up, before another plot to usurp a nation, aggressive flirtation, dictatorial mutation, national damnation.
1
Vindictive Trump supporters care nothing for morality and decency. They just want to burn civilisation to the ground out of spite. Trump is just using this as a dog whistle to rile up his supporters who by now are foaming at the mouth with the idea of more brutality.
1
lol yes neoliberalism and a prejudicial society is all part of Mar-x-ism... Seriously learn to read and research as your contradictions and lack of understanding are showing...
1
Diseased chickens that live a short life of suffering while being pumped full of antibiotics and other nasties. If you don't care about animal welfare at least care about your own body...
1
@Hertz2laugh They are created by how many tons of pesticides are used as my example clearly shows, using the same criteria for each country. What is wrong with you people? Can't you take simple facts when they don't fit in with your ego?
1
@Hertz2laugh I'm the one who presented facts based on actual amounts used, per country, with the same criteria being used for each country and was challenged twice with nonsense arguments... I've pointed out your 'reality check' was actually the opposite, an attempt to misrepresent the data as compromised because it didn't fit in with your hilarious suggestion that the US cares about its farmland and isn't willing to use chemicals to pollute it (despite being the 2nd largest user of said pesticides/chemicals). There's nothing wrong with the American dream, but you have to be asleep to dream...

Illegal to feed hungry people on public property? What a perversion of law, justice and morality. Anyone remember civilization?

@b.41879 8.5% are privatised, the rest are state and federal and are also run for profit using inmates as a workforce. While technically they may not be privatised, they are contracted as slave Labour. Incarcerated workers in the US produce at least $11bn in goods and services. If you want helpful and respectful, maybe admit the flaws in your society and stop assuming I'm ignorant of the facts...
1
@b.41879 PS Feel free to search this and educate yourself! Captive Labor: Exploitation of Incarcerated Workers ACLU and the University of Chicago Law School Global Human Rights Clinic, June, 2022 “Our research found that the average minimum hourly wage paid to workers for non-industry jobs is 13 cents, and the average maximum hourly wage is 52 cents.” "Incarcerated workers in the US produce at least $11bn in goods and services."
1
@b.41879 My tone in the original comment is sarcastic and I'm fully aware of the flaws in your prison system. The fact you seem to think I'm guessing shows your lack of ability, despite me explaining my reasoning in further replies... Bullying? Childish? Seriously? A witty quip about your lack of intellect has you crying foul...
1
@b.41879 I haven't called you any names, simply pointed out the lack of understanding which is present in your comments in a humorous way. Anyway, I've had a wonderful, enlightening debate... but this wasn't it!
1
@b.41879 You post on the thread 5 days after my last reply and then tell me you didn't read my reply? lol sure buddy, whatever makes you happy...
