What they probably mean by living wage is that it's the basic amount that a human being can actually live on. Cash cows aren't meant to ponder the meaning of their existence or other existential matters. Consume, work, pay tax, die.

Food banks were created to give basic meals to people who couldn't afford to live without their help. I'm not interested in arguing semantics or being misinterpreted for the sake of argument...
