Inflation is still at 8.7% and those with the lowest spending power have seen increases in living costs of over 15%. The price rises up to Dec 2022 were at a huge 16.9% and so 6% isn't really a rise in terms of inflation or the cost of goods. It's still a real-terms loss of wages and spending power...

@romeolarenzo3929 That is partly true, but the cost of living and inflation hit those with the lowest income hardest. It's a disproportionate attack on the poorest members of society.

@mckendrick7672 Yes we're all getting screwed by the Tories. But allowing jealousy to hold up others' wage increases seems a little counter-productive. We should be working together to support anyone negotiating or striking for better wages. From cleaners, office staff, factory workers, transport drivers and so on.
