Energy firms should be nationalised, this extortion has gone on far too long. We need to be self-sufficient as a nation, especially now.

This squeeze on the poor has been coming from all directions for over a decade. The government seem to be taking this economic euthanasia too far.

@mijicmugendo It was actually costed by the IFS at £80 billion in the 2016 Labour manifesto.

@mijicmugendo They are privatised which means they get those subsidies and the corporate welfare. They also get bail-outs and the infrastructure they use was paid for by the taxpayer.

Yes Karl Marx was opposed to the inherent flaws in capitalism and hence despised the monopoly of essentials like energy.

@ejbh3160 lol privatisation didn't exist in Britain until Thatcher pioneered it in the 80s.

@ejbh3160 Private industry is allowed to compete with nationalised but because they require profit margins, they can't offer the same level of service. Hence why we have to keep bailing them out and paying them subsidies.
