If only the government had the balls to restrict monopolies and price-fixing or renationalize energy and make Britain self-sufficient, that way we wouldn't be blackmailed by a cartel with a volatile market and instead we'd have control of our own energy market.

@TheWiseJames Solar and wind power should be on all new developments and institutional infrastructure. We also have a very long coast being an Island, geothermal in small but useable quantities, a large river network and plenty of other opportunities. We are halfway to becoming self-sufficient on renewables, we just have to go the distance and then know we are self-reliant and futureproof.

@johnrussell3961 Why would we need foreign sources of Energy based on the two most destructive forms of creation? We should be self-sufficient on renewables. We already generate roughly 50% of our energy from renewables. And if they are nationalised then prices won't fluctuate and will be outside of market forces...
