Who spends that much per annum on energy? how is that going to help the majority of working people? UK power prices have tripled year-on-year from August 2020 (£36/MWh) to August 2021 (£107/MWh) – a jump of £71/MWh. The UK pays £263.99 per megawatt hour in August 2022 and it's still rising. It's around 8x the price it was in 2020...

@julielevinge266 100% agreed, I'm so glad we sold off our North Sea resources and privatised the energy markets so a cartel could bleed us dry and increase the number of pensioners that die each year from hypothermia. I also appreciate all the subsidies, bailouts and tax breaks that the poorest pay shareholders, through their taxes. I'm just glad the British public are so apathetic they allow the Tories to con them so openly...

They make us pay a standard charge for the first so many units we use, and then it gets cheaper the more we use. Most people can't afford to use that much and even if we cut down it makes little difference to the bills because of that standard rate. They have us by the short and curlies and the Tories profit from shares, so aren't inclined to hold the corporations to account.
