They'll find a loophole or change legislation to suit themselves. Imagine how much better this country would be if those in parliament just had one job, being a politician that they took seriously. Imagine how corruption would diminish if MPs couldn't use their position for profit and instead of taking lobbyists money they made decisions based on their constituents' wishes.

@scam Not sure a psychotic megalomaniac would make much difference, in fact I think that's the problem with the current lot.

@fab We are trapped between the right who are pro corporations and the wealthy as part of their ideology and the left who have been infiltrated by centrists since Blair dropped clause 4 and have leaders who are funded by corporate lobbyists in spite of their supposed ideology. This provides corporations with a friendly leader, whoever wins the election. But there is a big difference in the ideology, if only we had representatives that support that ideology.
