  1. Why not provide decent schooling, youth centres, and support centres and then give their parents a real working wage they can afford to support their families on? Just a thought, but a kid brought up having to use food banks, going hungry and slipping through the cavernous cracks in the education system isn't in need of punishment, but opportunities. Society is crumbling all around them and they are not oblivious to that fact. Give them a decent society...

  2.  @anne-mariemarshall  It's the Tories and it's a punitive measure to cover up their failings in the basics of society - health care, mental health, living standards, crime, education etc. While I agree some form of service could give young adults a good foundation, that is not what this is about.
