Just watched this vlog. Binge watching them as you're filming and presentation is brilliant. You will absolutely love the Middle Levels. I went through on the way to St. Neots in 2018. I loved them and should have done more exploration but didn't have time. You will also adore the River Nene. It is very neglected river by boaters. It's absolutely lovely and in my view better than the Thames and I have done both. Do buy membership of Friends of the River Nene as they have some lovely moorings and it's only £12 for a year. Any more information you need let me know at mistymornmk@gmail.com.

Wonderful video, I'm beginning to run out of superlatives. I'll have to rack my brain or consult the dictionary. Those geese are so noisy did they start up at 3 a. m. I so love Upwell and did you look inside the church, the roof is carved with flying angels. A word of warning about Brandon at the end of the Little Ouse. Do not moor there on the E. A. Mooring as there are now travellers there and they will take anything they can remove from boats. I was told this the other day by someone who moors at Ely. Have a good week.

I will have to do that section above Hatton again.I did not appreciate how lovely it is as I have done it 2 years running in intense heat last summer and in similar heat in 2021.How on earth did you manage to get photos of the kingfisher? As I have said before you have amazing patience to get your nature photos.9k subscribers, amazing, what an increase in the last 6 months!Keep it up.

Super vlog ,so much variety.I was hoping to see one of the American wartime locos that the Churnet have but no such luck.Still I'm totally persuaded by your vlogs to visit the Caldon this summer having realised that it's another way to get to Llangollen, actually more locks but less mileage than the Shroppie.I hope all this rain stops soon as my eventual destination is Sharpness! I just adore that part of England.Your trip down there was responsible for my trip down there last year, thank you.By the way did you realise it was me flying past your wild mooring near that pub on the first few days of August. You did wave like mad as I was being pushed by a pretty strong outgoing tide, great fun! I have always wondered how you get those shots of birds singing their hearts out is it luck or do you patiently wait for them? Hope you jave a drier less muddy week.

Another wonderful wildlife vlog and so superior to most of the others. This is why you now have over 31k subscribers.Keep it up and you'll catch Robbie Cumming who has about 45k.Wind turbines are noisy and vibrate so stick with solar.Do you have a solar dump for the immersion heater.I have some instructions from a boater last year and must connect it up.I looked into a heat pump instead of the diesel heater but it needs about 1kw per hour to operate it so for that you might as well run a simple fan heater.Have a good week.I am in the throes of completely rejigging my cruise this summer due to this continuing stoppage at Brinklow.

You have hit the jackpot this week. This video is your best yet.Colourful and deeply amazing countryside, very varied content and phenomenal wildlife and nature.Your shots of the barn owl were stupendous.Well done and a rapidly increasing subscriber base which is richly deserved.I have one Boating essential based on last week's vlog- a Go ratchet windlass. You should get one as a Christmas present from Mr. M.It will greatly help you with all those difficult paddles.I have had one for 2 years and haven't used anything else except on Hatton where the paddle spindles are too big.Have a good week in that lovely part of our country.More spectacular scenery to come.
1
Not on the move yet.The weather isn't warm enough for me, I'm a wuss!My plans are delayed by this landslip at Brinklow and I have just read from the latest stoppage list that the earliest reopening will now be 18th May!!!

I have just come across your latest vlog on Google 's news section.Your famous!

Wunderbar buzzard week but your drawing is really lifelike and basically absolutely superb. The countryside up there looks really good.I shall have to do the Caldon before really old age catches up with me! Today has been really spring like so I should be on the move soon. Now I am going to be really critical but you ought to do something about that rusty looking deck around your water tank filler.Have a lovely week.

Got back from climbing to the top of Kinver Edge to your wonderful vlog ,that poor woodpecker was having problems with that pole! I saw an amazing sight this week,a squirrel swimming across the Severn and the river was probably 100 ft wide at that point ! Unfortunately the phone was not accessible as I was under way at the time.No wind here this week.
1
Another superb video. The scenery up there is quite stunning.Everywhere is really green due to all the rain we have had over the winter.Best shot this week, in my wiew,is the mandarin duck early in the video.Hope the weather for next week stays as good for you as it has been this week.

I have just caught up with your last few vlogs as I have been in an internet desert! It's great to watch all your nature shots otterley amazing (to use one of your earlier quotes) .That weed/pea soup looks awful.Very interesting advice about the coolant breather which I shall check as I have the same engine as you but on a 44ft boat really grossly overpowered but mega good on rivers.Where to next?
1
No not yet by quite a long way. l'm in Burton on Trent at present.Due for blacking and other jobs. In Stockton on 27th September.Have an exciting week.
1
I have found you again at last.No internet reception for last 2 weeks More fabulous nature ,you really ought to give some serious thought to having your journal published.I am finally really on the move with a brand new exhaust.I will be seriously looking out for nature now I can move without noisy exhaust rattles.Where are you going next when you get back to the Trent?Up it to Trent Falls?
1
Gloucester and Sharpness then Burton on Trent for the end of August.About 300 locks when I get back to Northampton! Ambitious or what.
1
More super wildlife photography and how you manage to catch it at the right moment never ceases to amaze me .Did you not go sailing on the lake the other side of the sugar factory? You will have to do the flood relief channel from Denver to Downham Market.
1
That was a wild ride this week but you handled the whole everything with aplomb.I bet you're hoping for a quieter week but there's a lot of snow forecast and freezing rain which is much worse.Where to next ,the Yorkshire Ouse? That is quite a challenge; or perhaps the Huddersfield Narrow and that's no siesta.Alternatively the Leeds and Liverpool which means you will have to come back and do the other two.Anyway have a good week and happy new year to all three of you

You're not weird, just mega patient and hyper observant.

Wow what a picture of the Jay at the end absolutely phenomenal.I have actually been to Gayton today helping someone up the flight.I needed the exercise and was getting withdrawal symptoms from not being out on the cut in all day fresh air.As a piece of information some of the IWA volunteers who maintain the Northampton flight have been doing the hedge laying and are being taught how to do it.For your heritage information the rail bridge Zephyr was running around is the original cast (or is it wrought ) iron bridge built in 1840(it was gorgeous) encased in concrete in about 1965 when the line was electrified. You can actually still see the original underside iron supports and I think painted blue.Pity the original structure wasn't left as built the pictures of it are beautiful with lots of cross trusses, and I'm sure it would have been strong enough.Have a lovely week.
1
If I'd known when you were going up the flight I would loved to help.Next time.

Has Zeph been reincarnated as a Jay?The way that Jay was tilting its head was exactly what Zeph does.I expected a frozen canal in this week's vlog but maybe that is to come, although you seem to be on a river at present.Stay safe and warm.
1
I'm back phone broke now l have a brand new one . I have noticed a lot of butterflies down here (south stratford canal ) I shall have to do a count tomorrow and what a divine canal . I guess you're loving the Great Ouse and I hope you will love Hemingford Grey where you will get to next.Another smashing video and now to find the videos I've missed.
1
The caldon is gorgeous so might make time to do it this year as there's souch water about. You've go me hooked.I hope your weather has been as mild as it has been here today.I've just finished dinner with the hatch and front door open-bring on summer! More wonderful mature in this vlog especially everything on the drystone wall.Have a wonderful week.
1
Another amazing video. I'm glad you like the Middle Levels as much as I did. That courtship dance by the grebes was amazing. Are they they still digging on the neolithic site between the brickworks and the waterway just outside Peterborough? Hope the winds we are having this week are not too violent on the flatlands you are now in. By the way I finally left the marina on Sunday morning. Hope you are moored up somewhere safe in this awful weather, it is colder than last November!
1
Another excellent vlog and some really good winter shots.I believe people are at last taking notice of the quality of your vlogs as the subscribers are increasing by at least 1k each week rather than the odd one hundred.😊
1
Another A*** vlog. The goalie Zeph was hilarious.Plus another clutch of amazing shots of really unusual nature.I think I must go around with my eyes shut.Hope your arm gets better soon .I hope you get that Go windlass it should help .have a good week and a happy Christmas if you aren't putting out a vlog next Friday.
