We don't need a government that is lots smaller than we have now. We don't need a government that is lots bigger than we have now. We need a government that is capable of protecting a respectable society from the corruption of unrespectable individuals. We need an uncorrupted government of a size that is capable of protecting the collectives of respectable people. We need an uncorrupted government of a size that is capable of protecting the environment in which we all have to live. The size of our government should be commensurate with the level of corruption and spiteful-disregard which is exhibited by the unrespectable individuals. The size of our government should be equal to the task of squelching the corrupt individuals who are willing to exploit and extort the collectives of uncorrupted, respectable people, and the natural resources of our collective environment. That is the answer. ------------------------- On a further note, only some corrupt and unrespectable individuals care solely for themselves and their small group of family and friends. Many of the people in my own family are that way. These corrupt individuals, inside and outside of my family, are the exploiters and extortionists, and thus, unrespectable. But there are plenty of uncorrupt and respectable people who care about others whom they have never met before. I care about you, Mike, and I have no clue who you are. I care about B unangst, Dorothy, Maher, Shawn, Patrick, Gcoffey, and Randy, and I have no clue who they are. I have respect for all human life. I know that if one of us isn't protected, then all of us are less protected. I know that one person's troubles can become another person's problems. But I can't be everywhere at the same time to protect everyone, and an uncorrupted government -- of, by, and for We, The People -- is capable of protecting the least fortunate among us. Maybe you've never been apart of the group of people who are considered the least fortunate among us. Perhaps you've been lucky your whole life. I know this, though; you aren't part of the wealthy class. The corrupted and unrespectable folks in the wealthy class don't spend their time in the comments sections of Youtube videos, they pay other unrespectable people to do that for them. And since you aren't a member of the wealthy class, I know that you could be relegated to the status of 'least fortunate' at any time. With any combination of family deaths, housing fires, debilitating car accidents, and/or lost jobs within your life and family, you could find yourself in a least-fortunate situation incredibly quickly. However, there are uncorrupted and respectable individuals within our society who are willing and able to help folks who go through those hardships. An uncorrupted government is the metaphorical-vehicle by which respectable individuals communicate, collaborate, and coordinate our combined resources to help protect the least-fortunate individuals inside of our collective society. I'm not the most respectable person and I'm far from perfect -- I'm also willing to admit it, unlike the people in my own family -- but perhaps more so than you, it seems. We need a revered government which is of a size that is capable of protecting uncorrupted and respectable collectives of people from corrupt and unrespectable exploitative individuals -- such as those in my family whom I mentioned before -- and perhaps from you, it seems. Consider this: Without a functioning government, it would allow individuals who are less-respectable than me to dispose of the seemingly uncooperative folks who say ignorant things like, "We need someone to COMPLETELY dismantle the entire government and never rebuild it." Try not to be so obtuse. It could lead to your demise. I can't be there to protect you.

  3. Dan, do you mean that you SAW 'comments on other lefty channels' by the creators? or do you mean that you READ 'comments on other lefty channels' by their viewers? If you meant you SAW comments being made by other creators in their videos, I would be interested to know which channels those were so I could compare their reasons for not liking Jimmy with my own reasons for not liking Jimmy. Don't get me wrong. I like Jimmy because, as of now, I still believe he is an actual leftist. But, I do not like Jimmy because he does a disservice to leftists and right-wing idiots. Why do I say that Jimmy does a disservice to actual leftists? Good question; let me try to answer. 1) I don't like Jimmy because he often comes across as if he's a right-winger. There are LOTS of videos where Jimmy doesn't clarify that he's a leftist. This leaves the opportunity for right-wing idiots to assume he's a right-winger. 2) I don't like Jimmy because, for as bad as the Democratic Party-leadership is, he doesn't do even a decent job of explaining how bad the Republican Party-leadership is. There are LOTS of videos in which Jimmy doesn't even mention that the Republican Party-leadership is against the working-class just as much as the Democratic Party-leadership, if not more so. 3) I don't like Jimmy because by not clarifying his position, there are lots of right-wing idiots who continue to believe that the Democratic Party-leadership is leftist. But the Democratic Party-leadership is not leftist. By failing to explain that fact, some right-wing idiots come away from Jimmy's videos with attacks that they direct toward leftists without comprehending that the Democratic Party-leadership isn't even leftist. Thus, Jimmy helps to solidify the divisive culture of a two-party duopoly in the minds of right-wing idiots. But what we have is more akin to a one-party monopoly. 4) I don't like Jimmy because by being so direct in his disdain for the positions of the Democratic Party-leadership while being so indirect in his disdain for the similar positions of the Republican Party-leadership, he is essentially propping up a dichotomy in the minds of right-wing idiots when a dichotomy barely exists. By not being clear about his position, not explaining things well, and not adequately comparing and contrasting Democratic Party-leadership with Republican Party-leadership, some right-wing idiots walk away from Jimmy's videos and still believe that they are on the correct side of history. Because Jimmy is a high, jag-off, night-club comedian in his garage who is masquerading as someone to be taken seriously -- the same way that Democratic Party-leadership and Republican Party-leadership are masquerading as two seriously different political parties -- he is doing a disservice to the people whom he claims to want to help. Either way, I'd be interested in you clarifying what you meant when you said you saw "comments on other lefty channels on how much they HATE Jimmy Dore." Imagine being so ignorant that you didn't know that neoliberalism is akin to conservatism, or that both are ideologies being supported by the wealthy-establishment.   10. That mother-talk, about primary caregivers withdrawing their love, is some real talk. Like most disparities, I think it can be explained by class and socioeconomic status. The people within the lower-class -- the poor, debtor, and working classes -- are the disproportionate perpetrators and victims of this kind of alienating rationale. The primary caregivers and providers within the lower-class become economically-relieved if they can self-justify the writing-off and alienation of their children and families. With that economic relief comes emotional and mental relief, even though varying degrees of guilt might be felt by the caregivers and providers as a result of the forced-alienation. In contrast, the wealthy-class can remain economically-sound whether their children and family members remain in their lives or not. And for those of us who are aware of the rationale of the folks within the wealthy-class, we know that they are not apt to be moved by guilt or emotions anyway. In some regards, I'm sorry Jimmy grew up that way. I don't wish that kind of childhood on anyone. But in some ways, I'm not sorry. When I tell people in my life, who had no bearing on my upbringing, the truths about my childhood, they often apologize. I always tell them that I'm not sorry. I tell them that it was my experiences that turned me into the man I am today -- as someone with the ability to admit my imperfections. I tell them that I feel lucky to have come to peaceful terms with how I was raised and all the negative experiences I had to endure -- as someone who is striving to become even more compassionate and empathetic as I move forward. When I've confronted my abusive parents, who did bear the responsibility for my upbringing, with how their abuse negatively impacted my life, they've never apologized. My mother has shown remorse in the past, but it never lasted long. Her 40-year, doctor-enabled opioid addiction always caused her to revert to victim-blaming. To an extent, my parents are like the wealthy-class folks who aren't moved by guilt or emotions, even though my parents are debtor-class at best. I'm not proud of how my parents have reacted to my interpretations of their effect on my life. I'm not always proud of how I react to some things in life. I'm not always proud of how Jimmy reacts to some things in politics. But, I'm not sorry that Jimmy has become able to tell the powerful truths of his story, and I'm not sorry that he has become a speaker of truth to power.

It took me a long time -- a lot of that time wasted while I was self-medicating with alcohol -- before I got to a place where I could even be primed for actual learning. After two years of sobriety, I began to become the person I wanted to be, instead of the corporate slave that the capitalist kakistocracy wanted me to be. Now, being eight years sober and six years out of the corporate rat-race, I am the best, imperfect version of myself I've ever been. Now I can admit that I'll never be perfect, and I have stopped expecting perfection from others.
