I highly disagree. I prefer it when bands stick to one genre because a band is not just the members, but the brand they portray. I personally feel alienated because they promised us a punk rock album and came back with this mix of indie pop that I didn't want.... Is it bad music? not at all. Is this what I wanted? absolutely not. And so for me, this is not Paramore anymore. It's Haley Williams doing something completely different to cater to the masses. The term for this is... selling out! I feel like if she wanted to do this, she should have dropped the Paramore brand and started a new band name, or just go solo. If you want a good example of how she should have done a transition, look at Green Day. They've done side projects such as The Network, Foxboro Hot Tubs, The Long Shot, which are slightly different genres of rock that don't fit the Green Day brand. I think every artist that wants to experiment or move to other genres should do this instead!
