  2. There's more to this. Apparently, a lot of software developers and engineers are moving to Texas given circumstances in California (traffic, high cost of living, wildfires, etc.). Texas is gonna be a very different looking state in about 5 years.

  3. It could work if given the right motivation. California's cost of living is much higher, not to mention all the traffic, pollution, etc. Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley is one of the cheapest places in the nation to buy homes and has one of the lowest costs of living. My mortgage payment in Harlingen costs LESS than typical rent for a low-end apartment. The early comers would definitely benefit from moving here, but over time, property prices might increase if you live close to Starbase

  4. Agreed, downtown Brownsville looks real sketchy. He needs to be careful who he gives money to, though. Some politicians and local government officials are corrupt here, so giving them money is just asking for that money to disappear.

  6. That does sound pretty good, but from what I heard, some of the owners of these properties had had generations of their families living there for a long time and surely they are not too happy to be kicked out of their home.

  7. Yeah, Port Isabel stands to benefit a lot from incoming people but it needs to be mentioned more. I think adding a road connecting Port Isabel to Starbase would help out.
