I am of opinion that it is safer NOT to mix vaccines. I know the government recommendation is that mixing vaccines is safe, but to state that they had to do a long-term impact study, which they did not have time to do. So the government recommendation that mixing the vaccines is safe is, in my opinion, the reflection of convenience, supply issues, difficulty of planning / logistics on the part of the government and the lack of immediate evidence that mixing vaccines could be harmful.
Also, the specialists in Israel (where the vaccination of the population was completed several months ago) are in opinion that Pfizer is the most efficient vaccine against the Delta Variant.
And now WHO expresses concern because nobody conducted the proper study. Canadian Officials say that it is reasonable to believe that mixing vaccine is OK because Moderna and Pfizer are similar.
In principle, they are might be similar. But the dosage is different (100ml for Moderna vs 30 ml for Phizer), the freezing temperature is different, the thawing protocol is different and nobody knows how these two vaccine mixture will affect you in the long run.
