  1. Polish elites (kings) indeed welcome the Jews due to positive impact of Jews on the state's economy. This, however, is not the case for common polish people, the Catholics. With respect to Poland, the historians write that the shamefully large number of Polish Catholics during the WW2 acted against the Polish Jews in cooperation with Gestapo or independently. Jan Gross, the polish historian, tells that polish people killed more Jews than they killed Germans. Krayova Army was especially antisemitic. It is true that they fought Germans, but they also killed every Jew that come across.
