Acutally folks, INFLATION is built into the capitalist system......part of its boom and bust cycle enabled by the FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANKING system. Instead of a steady increase in growth reaching a point of equilibrium, where the demands of the masses, or their needs, is met by production, you have massive misallocation of capital leading to booms followed by busts. This is now news, this is apparent from the 300 years that capitalism has existed. And there is no cure.....sure, the Fed can continue to "paper over" the evident busts aka depressions, with more money printing, aka quantitative easing, but that has its limits = hyper inflation. The future, under capitalism, is inflation leading to hyper inflation or DEPRESSION, at least on the scale of the 1930's. The reason why Depression is needed, under capitalism, to cure inflation, is becuase of the usd 8 triillion on the balance sheet of the FED. This 8 trillion was used in the recent past to prevent an implosion of the financial system and prevent a depression so there is no way the Fed can increase interest rates and reduce its balance sheet, in a significant way that would cure inflation, without also causing a DEPRESSION......
