Comments by "Old Scientist" (@OldScientist) on "Deadly Mediterranean wildfires kill more than 40 - BBC News" video.
What has happened to people is terrible but this is another BBC spin piece. None of the locations in Greece on the BBC weather app had temperatures in the 40s. Most were in the low 30s. More BBC propaganda. There is nothing unusual about the fire season in Europe. Weekly burn area is way below average. Cumulative burn area is average. Weekly Number of fires are below average. Cumulative number of fires are bang in the middle of the normal range. The same is true for Greece, and the fires at present are a tiny fraction of the maximum recorded (EFFIS). There's no trend for wildfires in Greece. Note that annual Global Wildfire Carbon Emissions have been declining dramatically since 2003, with 2022 being the lowest on record (Copernicus). There is no objective observational evidence that we are in a global climate crisis. None.

@renatoantonelli3894 How inscrutable! At least I didn't get the head up the arse advice you gave some other poor sod. All I can glean is your not a fan of objective truth.

@Nemrai The fires are obviously taking place, and it's very sad for the people involved. But this is not a single reportage. It is part of a repeated and widespread 'nudging' of us by the media to believe in the myth of a climate crisis for which there is no objective observational evidence.
