@опрдбр it is a dumb move, when you have seperatist problems, to recognize the independence of seperatist regions in other countries. Which is why Spain and Ukraine also don't recognize Kosovo. Which is what the guy meant. But eh thinking is hard sometimes I guess?

@vidinman there is one problem chief. Under international law, you can't organise a referendum in the territory of another state. Which Russia did, both in 2014 and 2022. Any referendum in Crimea, or the other territory, would only be legal if it was organised whilst being under Ukrainian controll. Imagine the West invading your country and then organising referenda. I am sure then you would suddenly consider it sham referenda (which they would be)

@markdowding5737 tatars and cossacks are not related. Cossacks can be considered an ancestor to the Ukrainians whilst tatars are indeed a Turkic people. The tatars are pro Ukrainian though. Not that crazy after what happend to them under Stalin and the fact the Ukrainians gave them the right to resettle.

@Writeous0ne have you ever been to the Donbas though? I think you haven't. Otherwise, you knew all you say is bs. I have family and friends there, I have been there a couple of times, for longer periods, after 2014. The thing is, after 2015, the fighting mostly stopped. So the bombed Dombass thing is ridiculous. Not to mention the reports show the casualties being somewhat around 55%/45% which does not indicate genocide or specific targeting of civilians. Not to mention that the death toll in the Donbas war after 8 years is lower than 4 months of the current one... If you're talking about if you speak Russian, bad things happen to you. well, biggest bs ever. My Ukrainian is sh*t, so I always speak Russian there. As does my family and most of my friends. The president's mother tongue is Russian, and his Ukrainian isn't stellar. Which they even made fun of in his TV show. You seem to be the type of guy that spends too much time on the Internet, and too little in the real world. Last thing, with the minority thing, if you can point to me who is a Russian-speaking Ukrainian and who is a Russian-speaking Russian in the Donbas with 100% accuracy, I am going to take you to a casino.

Well makes sense that Serbia doesn't recognize the DNR and LNR, as well as the Russian annexations. Considering they have their own problem with a breakaway state, being Kosovo. It is alzo a reason why Ukraine doesn't recognize Kosovo as an independent state.

@neillgowans4350 well never.. it was part of the Russian Empire and also within the USSR it was part of the RSFSR before being transferred to the Ukrainian SSR (although to be fair transfers happend more often than most realize, I suppose Ukraine has a claim on some Russian land too if we use the Russian logic), but I get what you were going for.

@vidinman no Russian soldiers there xD you're a gold mine of stupidity. There is actual footage of them being there. But ofcourse they had no insignia so they aren't Russian hahaha. How can anyone take you serious honestly xD
