@Bus-tator exactly. I have the same experience, also from actually having been in Kharkiv. All that has happened is that now the language of education is Ukrainian and not Russian.

@samsungtap4183 it has been part of the Ottoman Empire that is what he means. But orginal owners.. It has been Mongol, Khazar, Scythian, Pontic, Roman and Greek before the Turks.. that said always great to see support from Turkey to Ukraine.

@wildwoodsgirl1706 I think it is good news. It always bothers me when people are like "Ukraine banning Russian" ,which is bs, but especially after centuries of Rusification under the Russian Empire (especially Czar Alexander III) and USSR (with the exception being Lenin). It is like a former colonial empire getting angry at a former colony for not having its language as an official language.

@Bus-tator yeah friends from Izium explained to me that teachers would talk in Ukrainian at school, go through the door and now talk Russian hahaha.

@Bus-tator yeah I know there are some Russian language schools left but far far less than there used to be. So I am actually curious what they'll say. I also remember that I saw a video recently that from now on they won't teach in Russian anymore in Kyiv.

@wildwoodsgirl1706 yeah modern Russia besides imperialist also has the traits of fascism, which is a dangerous development.

Ugh there is the Russian propaganda bs again. Russian is not banned in Ukraine. It is just not a recognized minority language. Zelensky's first language is Russian.... as is the case with many Ukrainians who speak it every day as again, speaking it is not banned. It is just, that Ukrainian is the language of education and government etc. As it is the official language of Ukraine. Russian for all intense and purposes is considered a foreign language, which you can study there just like English and you're also free to speak it. If you want to actually know what banning a language looks like, you should read about Alexander III's policies in regards to Ukrainian.

@leninha5549 mate that is honestly the most ignorant response ever. Many of my Ukrainian friends, extremely patriotic and extremely anti Russian due to the war, are Russian speaking Ukrainians. Who know Ukrainian but prefer Russian. The language spoken by a person, doesn't determine which country they love, nor is Russian property of the Russian state. Russian speaking people are not immediately pro Russian. Most people that are being shelled every day by the orcs, are Russian speaking.

You kinda proof Ukraine's claims of Russification with your own comments lol. Ukrainian had been banned for a long time in Ukraine, by the Russians. Situation in Belarus with their native language is even worse. Also I would say that most Ukrainians speak Ukrainian as a first or second language. It is just that whilst MOST know Ukrainian to a certain degree, EVERYONE knows Russian. The legacy of the Russification policies in the Russian Empire and USSR. Also the Russian language is not Russia's property and the fact these people speak Russian, doesn't mean they're Russian.

@samsungtap4183 it is Ukrainian since Khrushchev transferred it. Just like how other territories were transferred from the Ukrainian SSR to the RSFSR and are not claimed by Ukraine nowadays. Russia itself also recognized the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine in 1991, that includes Crimea that indeed also voted for Ukrainian independence. Mate learn history you're full off Russian propaganda to the point that I think you're incapable of using your own brain. About cutting of water, I don't support it. But can understand the Ukrainian viewpoint on it. Why help the occupier of your territory. Also it clearly shows you have no idea how democracies work, as well as politics and history, as Zelensky wasn't president of Ukraine at the time the water supply was cut off....
