@inso80 yes. It was. Ironically the most people genocided by the Serbs in the first Balkan War weren't even Turks, they were Albanians, just like they did in Kosovo almost a century later which caused the NATO response. The Serbs killed Albanians and Turks just for being Muslim during the first Balkan War and there are stories of even Bulgarian/Macedonian people being killed by the advancing Serbian army, which are fellow Southern Slavs. But Serbia has learned to play the victim from big "brother" Russia. Just ask the Russians what happend to the Circassians when they start their bs about Russians being genocided.

@Mag ich nicht I wasn't talking about the last Balkan War my man. I wasn't talking about the Yugoslav Wars. This is specifically about the First Balkan War against the Ottoman Empire. But you proof my point by using whataboutism. Can you point to the part in which I said it was a typical Serbian thing to do? I specifically said, that NATO didn't cause Serbia to be the way it is. It always has been like this. I never said it was the only one now did I? So whataboutism isn't going to safe you and again, I wasn't talking about the Yugoslav Wars, in which all did horrible things, as tend to happen in civil wars, I was talking about the First Balkan War. But I am not surprised that you don't know the difference.

@Mag ich nicht but playing the external victim, the whole world being out to get you and all is the fault of others, is something the Serbs have copied to the same level of skill as they Russian "brothers". NATO hasn't made them how they are, but it is easier than to take responsibility. I suppose my country should blame the Germans for our behaviour in the Indonesian Independence War then too instead of taking responsibility for it as we have done now. That said of course NATO's use of force was excessive.

@Mag ich nicht I didn't take anything out of context my man. Serbia has always been like this. The fact is all have been like this, but most tried to move on and change, Serbia is still blaming others. The First Balkan War was a landgrab from the Serbs, Montegrins, Bulgarians and Greeks against a weak Ottoman Empire. There is nothing out of context there. Innocent people got killed. Just like Americans have no one to blame for being imperialist, neither can Serbia for its way of behaving and nor can my country for her colonial past.

They don't need to remove Russian. The way it is now is fine. Ukrainian is the sole official language and the only language used in government etc. You can't force people to stop speaking the language they have been speaking from birth. If you do that, you do the same thing the Russians say that Ukraine does. The Russian language is not a property of the Russian state and the language someone speaks, doesn't determine their loyalties.

@Mag ich nicht nah Serbia has always been like this. NATO pushed them towards Russia, but the behaviour of Serbia is the same it has always been. I advise you to read about the Serbian actions against civilians during the first Balkan War when they conquered territory from the Ottoman Empire. Note that this is long before the idea of NATO even existed.

@Mag ich nicht I agree that NATO force was excessive, but the Albanian genocide had to be stopped. Serbia has always leaned towards Russia, the two never having been neighbors helps as neighboring nations tend to have tensions. Ofcourse they would have such propaganda, it is easier than to say that your country did bad things. Nationalism in that regard is a bad thing. Even here we have people defending colonialism. Eventually Serbia will move on, but ofcourse they are angry towards NATO, we hated Germany and now we are best buddies. We should show Serbia understanding and who knows what happends. But no Serbia is not now this way because of NATO, before it was anti Ottoman and pro Russian, it is part of the geopolitical situation of Serbia. They don't have to become part of NATO, but if they want they are welcome in the EU.

@JonROlsen because Ukraine joined NATO?
1
They can't. They are neutral in their constitution as well as the fact that they have a territorial dispute (same reason Cyprus, Ukraine and Georgia aren't able to join)
1
It can't join NATO. It has territorial disputes. So even if it changed its constitution, it can't join the organisation.
