  2. They've been fighting alot of wars against other slavic peoples and have a history of opressing them. They know they are fighting fellow slavs but they consider themselves justified doing so as they are "the protectors and leaders of the slavic people". You should read about Pan Slavism to get it. But yeah Poland, Czech Republic (Prague spring specifically), Slovakia, Bulgaria they all know, in particularly Poland, what it means when the Russians say they come to "protect and liberate" you and are considered their "brothers". It is humilating hiw you lost the battle of Kyiv (which included the siege of Chernihiv, which also never fell) and the battle of Kharkiv as well as been pushed back towards the borders of Luhansk oblast🤣
