@Геннадий Шуплецов this is so bs.
1. Ukraine only wanted to join NATO as a result of 2014 (invasion of Crimea) as Russia broke the Budapest Memorandum.
2. Russia has nothing to say about the decisions of other souvereign countries. You support an imperialist policy.
3. NATO enlargement is a forged pretext, as the invasion will result in Finland joining NATO, with it doubling the Russian-NATO border and potentially threatening SPB from two sides.
4. Ukraine wasn't going to join NATO anytime soon due to lacking the necessary reforms + outstanding territorial disputes.
5. There are already nuclear weapons on the European continent pointed at Moscow, just like you have weapons pointed at our capitals, no one except Russia is threatening the use of them though. (I suppose we should also demand Kaliningrad being demilitarised? As it is closer to Berlin and Warsaw, than Ukraine is to Moscow)
Whilst I don't think Putin wants to rebuild the USSR and is more focused on building a new Russian Empire, this war is clearly imperialist in nature. Just like the Empires before it, it claims to be the victim and claims the actual victim is somehow the aggressor. We should remember that Russia is the only one denying the existence of the other nation, its culture and language. In your logic it would also mean Russia has to withdraw all of its forces near NATO countries. Or does this security concern only work one way? (Curious to see if you're a hypocrite like most Russians, crying about the West, whilst you do the same stuff).
It's sad to see how easily people like you just repeat, like parrots, what your government/news tells you without using your own brain.

@sdfghgtre3w2345 relatively safe. Which is an important nuance to your statement. Lviv, Zhytomir, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and other West-Ukrainian cities have been targeted by the Russians as well. So whilst it obviously is safer than Southern and Eastern Ukraine, and even than central Ukraine, its safer not safe.
I think the last thing we should do, is give the ЗСУ (ZSU, AFU in English) more people to look after, especially tourists, during the war. I want nothing more than to visit friends and family, but there is a time and place for anything, it is not now.

@Jan Hanchen Michelsen let's hope so.
все буде Україна! Including Crimea and the Donbas (my family originates from Donetsk, but they live in Kharkiv now). Yeah I miss some of my friends and family, I am born and raised in the Netherlands. I am half Ukrainian, half Dutch. But I also spend considerable time in Ukraine. I always say I have two homes, the Netherlands and Ukraine. I miss Ukraine alot, but I promised my best friend from Kropvynysky to not return until after the war, as she is afraid I will have to fight and will die. So I keep my promise eventhough it eats at the soul. She often says to me that it is clear that the Ukrainian side is strongest in me 😅🤣🤣 Everything we will be fine, Ukraine will be free.
Ironically the only Ukrainian speaking city I have been to is Lviv, all others I have been to are Russian speaking (makes sense considering where my family is from) but I want to visit alot of cities in Western Ukraine. You will like Lviv, and the other cities you'll see, I am sure of it. If you ever get the chance, you should visit Zakarpattia Oblast as well. Beautiful carpathians. Jealous of my friend who visited Uzhorod haha.
Kharkiv is also a city you should one day visit, Shevchenko park is gorgeous)).
Слава Україні! Смерть ворогам! Україна переможе!

@dickiydicker what is your proof of the coup? Exactly nothing. It just propaganda. Just like I am sure you call the current situation in Georgia a coup. In 2008 there was no attempt of Ukraine, or Georgia, to join NATO. You are telling a half truth. What happens is that Bush wanted to promise NATO membership to these countries, which, because of France and Germany, was changed to them "eventually" getting this. Ukraine at that time did not pursue NATO membership as until Russia's aggression in 2014, there wasn't popular support. After Russian aggression, UA changed it's constitution as it couldn't be neutral anymore considering it had just been invaded.
Even if the US had intervened in Ukraine, invading the country was not the way to react according to the Budapest Memorandum.
About the rest, maybe focus on your own country? Maybe then you can improve the lives of everyone there, instead of being obsessed over Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't want to be Russian and has shown to want to determine its own future, a European one. About not being legal according to the Ukrainian constitution, first arrange that your own country has a strong separation of powers and is a functioning democracy, then start critizicing your neighbours. Again, mind your own business, plenty to fix in sh*thole Russia. If you'd spend the money on the people and the country instead of the army, you guys would be living with a standard of living like in Europe. So leave us alone and f off ))
