@КомментаторЮтуба-л1т use Wikipedia to learn? Now I understand what is wrong with Russian education🤣🤣. I rather learn from the sources that wikipedia uses. As wikipedia can be edited by everyone, anonymously at that, it isn't really a reliable source my man.

@КомментаторЮтуба-л1т bro read my whole comment and them try again okay? I see the imperialist in you is triggerd but chill mate. Your while defence of a medieval state and trying to claim it's legacy is ridiculous. Russia isn't Rus' and Ukraine isn't Rus. You are descendants from them and evolved into separate people's from them. Now try again, this time actually read please before getting triggered.

@КомментаторЮтуба-л1т the most logical thing is that yeah Novgorod was the first capital of Rus' but by far the most important capital it ever had was Kiev. Does it make Ukraine, Rus' no. Does it mean that Russia is the Rus' or it's rightful successor? No. Russia is a moscovite state, whilst Ukraine could claim to be the successor of the Cossack Hetmenate. Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are all descendants from the Rus'. True Ukraine and Belarus are closer to the original Rus' culturally than Russia is. But it is utter ridiculous that countries claim to be successors of medieval states. Even in the case with countries that have historical continuity from medieval times to now, we should not forget that the medieval Kingdom of France is not the same as the current nation state of France. But in the case of no historical continuity being there it is even more ridiculous considering the kingdoms back then had nothing to do with nations but were solely the property of the ruler and his vassals. Russia, or Ukraine, being the Rus' or THE successor is like Italy calling itself the Roman Empire, Germany saying it is the Holy Roman Empire, Greece saying it is the Byzantine Empire etc etc. Even in the case with names resurfacing, like with the medieval kingdom of Serbia and the later Kingdom of Serbia aswell as modern Serbia.. we should remember these are not the same entities and all they share is a name.
