@samuellove9619 they are the legal successor. Meaning it took on the USSR'rs treaties. Indeed because it is the largest former USSR state. But being the only legal successor was disputed from the start by UA.

@Samuel Love which is actually the correct view. As Russia declared its own independence from the USSR. It was just chosen as the primary successor (it isn't the only one). But, just a question, when Russia declared independence in 1991, did it do so from itself?

@sergeyb8 mate you're barking against the wrong tree. I support Ukraine (as my pfp shows lol) and am against Russia being the legal successor. It has just happend and became de facto the case. Russia declared its independence from the USSR just like the other successors

@sergeyb8 yeah I agree it is ridiculous. Russia just said it was so and everyone agreed (besides Ukraine whom disputed it from the start) without there ever having been any official agreement on this.
