@HATCH5T 1. "Hundreds of years" often means "moved there by the Russian Empire/USSR". 2. Nobody asks them to leave, just that they integrate into the countries they live instead of feeling superior and demanding a special status. 3. Would you also protect Western colonials in their colonies after their independence and say they should break away too?

@HATCH5T as someone who's family is from Donetsk, are Russian speaking and whom I have visited multiple times, including during the Donbass war, please enlighten me and explain )) I'd like to mention I live in Kyiv and speak daily in Russian (whilst in the capital of a state that "oppreses" them )).

@leonardoorellano6652 do you know the term cultural colonisation? Whilst Stalin was ethnically Georgian, he was culturally Russian and identified as such. Brezhnev was ethnically Russian and never considered himself Ukrainian, he was a colonist essentially. Your point isn't a counterpoint to colonialism at all. It just shows the results of russificafion processes. Which language was mandatory in all of the USSR? Even in the non slavic republics?

Were you not enraged that children couldn't follow education in Russian anymore, so why are you okay with Ukrainian children not having education in Ukrainian?

@HATCH5T no the truth is, that Russians have a superiority complex and consider having to learn Ukrainian, the language of the country they live in to be beneath them. The same applies to Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Kazakh, Romanian/Moldovan etc. They just expect you to learn their language, whist they live in another country. Imagine if I'd live in Russia and refuse to learn Russian.... Btw you can speak Russian to this day in Ukraine. As I said, I do so daily as my gf is from Kharkiv. She is more fluent in Russian, but also knows Ukrainian, as should be. If Russian will ever dissapear from Ukraine, it will be the actions of the Russian state causing it. But ofcourse what I say doesn't fit in your narrative. The narrative of "the enteral victims, the Russians".

@sliftyy nobody cares. It is the internationally recognized borders. The reason Stalin gave it to Moldavia, is no have ethnic Russians within Moldova. Creating ethnic tensions. But you say it should become Ukrainian then? Hmm. It also doesn't much sense that Russia controlls land ot Turkic populations and yet it does )).

@Gerrard_Pike2008 nope Russia was formed by Peter I in 1721. Whilst the Czardom of Moscovy (which Ivan IV called Czardom of Russia but which was never recognized by anyone as Russia) was formed in 1547 aka the 16th century. So even if we take Ivan's Moscovy and call it Russia, it would still not be the 15th century. In the 15th century it was the Grand Duchy/ Principality of Moscovy

@KiraNt4 technically modern Russia exists since 1917 as Lenin said his RSFSR, and later the USSR, wasn't the successor to the Russian Empire but a completely new entity )). Making it the same age as modern Ukraine.

@Zz_Mike-Hawk_zZ Ukrainian also isn't an official language of Russia. It is a regional language of Crimea. The only official national language of Russia, is Russian. To be clear, my family is Russisn speaking and yet we actually agree with Ukraine. Russian isn't banned here, you can speak it at all time. All it mean is education and governmental intuitions need to be in Ukrainian.

@KiraNt4 yes but it's not a state language. They're regional languages. There is a huge difference is it. The use of alot of the regional languages is declining. Moldova has recognised minority languages too which includes...... Russian!

@ИринаЛукьяненко-ь3ъ there is enough stories of Ukrainians that fled the occupied territories and tell how their children were forced to speak Russian. Which is ironic since the seperatists were so much against this potentially happen to them, whilst nobody forced them.

@ИринаЛукьяненко-ь3ъ I wasn't speaking about Crimea. I spoke about the recently occupied territories (Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson). I am aware that Ukrainian is a state language of Crimea.

@againstviralmisinformation510 it's economy is the size of that of the Benelux )). The EU, of which Moldova could become part, dwarves Russia. But don't take my word for it, it is known that everything Russia touches becomes worst than it was. Ask the former satellite states of the USSR and ask the Baltic States what is better, being part of the EU or being part of Russian aligned block)).

@ripplingeffect9339 nobody oppresses the Russians. All everybody asks them is to integrate into the country they live and learn the local language. Like what you'd ask EVERYBODY else too. But Russians think they're special and superior and learning non Russian languages is beneath them.

@bullshitdepartment that is bs. You need to know Russian if you want to live in Russia. Russian is the only state language and the minority languages are dying out. Ironically I have friends in Bashkiria who exactly tell me how this actually does play out in real life.

@bullshitdepartment dude you're the one to need to get over yourself. If you go to another country and permanently live there, you need to learn the language to a basic level. This is normal actually. I don't care what language people speak on the street, that is not the point. There is nothing wrong with asking people living in Estonia to learn Estonian. You can learn another language whilst keeping your own. You are aware of this right? Some of us do have more mental capacity than you do and can learn more than 1 language.

@saschakling2906 yes. It is similar in the Donbass. Most (not all) ethnic Russians living there now are descendants of those that moved there after ww2 to repopulate the region as it suffered heavy population losses. However the current Russians also grew up in these countries and ofcourse have the right to live there.

Whilst transnistra was part of the Ukrainian SSR (specifically it was the Moldovan ASSR within the Ukrainian SSR) and this is the reason Russians and Ukrainians live there, Stalin actually created the Moldovan SSR from territory taken from Romania in 1940. The Moldovan ASSR would be added to this new Moldovan SSR, which created the modern internationally recognized borders of Moldova today. So who taught you history?

@yuratg 🤣🤣. Dude I literally explained to you why all you said was bs. I thought they atleast would have taught you that the Moldovan SSR was one of the republics within your beloved USSR. Transnistria even still uses the flag that the Moldovan SSR used to use. Also did you really not know about the Moldovan ASSR which was created right after the civil war, specifically to keep a claim on Beserrabia that was just lost to Romania? I actually really am curious how you not know this. How do you not know about the SSR that was created by your beloved Stalin?

You mean the Russia with an economy the size of the Benelux? Whilst being 100 times larger ? Russia famous for developing the regions outside Moscow and SPB, they do it so good, that the people in Siberian villages still don't have gas and running water and still have an outhouse.
