@James Madison Russia may not have been able to join NATO (because there are requirements to join NATO... same reason why Ukraine couldn't just join). However they did have a special relationship with NATO. NATO tried to cooperate with Russia. Russia is living in the past though and is paranoid as fuck.

@James Madison this is the whole paranoid thing. Stop living in the past. Nobody is going to invade Russia. Besides it's huge military and the fact it's a freaking nuclear power, it's sheer geographic size makes invasion nearly impossible. Not to much mention that whatever is to gain from invading Russia is not worth the cost. The west is not an enemy. The only reason countries join NATO, is Russia's own behaviour. If Russia would threat it's neighbours as equal instead of trying to dominate, nobody would join NATO. It's Russia's own neo imperialism that causes this. It says enough if neutral Finland, Sweden en fucking Switzerland even pick a side. To put that into perspective, Switzerland stayed neutral even in ww2 and now they condemn Russia... shows how much Russia fucked up.

@James Madison I understand them too. It's because of the way he is and he thinks the world is. Because he himself would invade other countries, he fears that happens to him too. It's the same as that he has poisoned other people and is now feared he will be poisoned too. He wil lives by the sword, dies by the sword. That idea essentially

@johnwang9914 I am aware of this. What was your point exactly? Forgot what I wrote tbh. Most funny thing about the CSTO is that Russia asked their CSTO buddy Kazakhstan to help and they were like well... no.... lol
