@officialreplik5095 which only works when it's in Russia's favour right? where was Chechnya's right of self determination? where was Ukraine's right of self determination? Georgia? exactly these words you spew mean nothing when this self determination means they'll distance themselves from Russia.

@eenigheid3186 yeah I know. To him self determination is: "few people want to join Russia? Annex the whole region, who cares what the majority wants".

Ryan Davies well nothing? The fact they speak Russian and indentify as Russian doesn't mean they support Russia. I think it's best not to single out a single group just because of the language they speak and the ethnicity they identify with.

@vaskodimoski5690 this is not true. Russian propaganda. They didn't take anyone's right to speak Russian away. What they did is take the protected status of Russian away. They wanted school to teach in Ukrainian for example. Ukrainian to become the only true state language. Which would be normal in any other country, but because it has to do with Russia, it suddenly is an issue. Btw not only Russian was affected, Romanian and Hungarian too, this was later changed so that some subjects could be given in those languages. However what the law doesn't do, is forbidding you to speak Russian. You can speak Russian at home or with friends, there is nothing forbidding you to do that. Again all the law does, is make Ukraine the language of education, administration and inter regional communication.

@encycl07pedia- uhm everything right except Georgia. As Georgia is not a slavic nation and has a very different history. They are not brothers of the Russians lol.

Lynette Agueda it's bullshit. He doesn't know what he is talking about. People are allowed to speak Russian. I have travelled all around Ukraine (this was after 2014) and in many larger cities like Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odessa, most people speak Russian. The only thing the law does, is making Ukrainian the only language of education (before there were alot of Russian language schools for example), administration and inter regional communication. What people speak at home or with their friends, is their own business.

@DarkShroom uhm what was the point you were trying to make 😂?

@theprinceofcrows8691 lol this shows how ignorant you Russians are. Self determination only matters when it is in Russia's interest. I have no knowledge? Bro I have more knowledge, even about your own country, than you'll ever have. The fact you don't see how arbitrarily you apply certain aspects is embarrassing. It's not up to you to decide who has self determination and who doesn't. If you claim Crimea and Donbass have the right of self determination and to split from Ukraine and join Russia, then Chechnya would have had the same right when it declared independence. And the fact you call it a coup has given you away as a Russian. It seems to me that the Russian mind is incapable of comprehending the fact that Ukraine doesn't want you. That they want their own future and want to decide themselves who they want as friends. You seem like the abussive stalker ex who can't let his ex go.
