Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan were independent between the world wars too. (More specifically just after ww1, same for Ukraine and Belarus)

@ca mu you are aware that the statement would apply to the Russian Federation as well, right? As the RSFSR itself declared independence from the USSR.

@David Cui so Mongolia, the successor to the Mongolian Empire and the Yuan, is privileged to claim Chinese and Russian lands? Those that use historical claims are living in the past. Also Russia isn't the successor. It is a successor. The primary one and therefore the legal one. Not the only one

@wubuck79 Yugoslavia fell apart because one ethnicity tried to dominate the others. Only a Moskal would blame the West for that.

@Jeylon Blake Ukraine, Finland, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Poland, and even some territories in modern Russia, all declared independence from the Russian Empire. So yes, these states were independent for a time in the 20th century, and most of them were forcefully incorporated into the USSR. The USSR also tried to do the same to Poland (Polish - Soviet War), the Baltic States (Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Wars of independence) and Finland (Finnish Civil War and the Winter War) as what they did to Ukraine (Ukrainian - Soviet War), Georgia (Georgian - Soviet War) and Armenia (Red Army invasion of Armenia)

@D RiteMoLawzBks he is talking about the interwar years. But he forgets that the USSR wasn't formed peacefully. It was formed by conquering the breakaway states that declared their independence from the Russian Empire, in a situation not dissimilar to what Russia does now to Ukraine (invasion) and Georgia (invasion in 2008), as well as Belarus (domination through political means)

@Deborah Freedman nope. As the current Russian Federation was a part of the USSR as the RSFSR. The Ottoman Empire reformed into Turkey. Whilst the USSR ceased to exist. Russia itself declared independence from the USSR (using your logic, the Russian Federation declared independence from itself?). There was actually a brief time where Russia had already declared independence whilst the USSR still existed. Where have you been taught history?

You are aware that this would include Russia right? As Russia isn't the USSR. Considering rhe USSR is just dead. The Russian SFSR declared independence just like the other SSR's.

@joniroberta1950 yeah I know I just thought I also name the others to show People that the current post soviet countries weren't created by the USSR (as Moskals tend to claim with their "Lenin created Ukraine or whatever other SSR"). Whilst these countries were actually forcefully intergrated
