  3. They do - a lot of the drones that Ukraine has destroyed en route towards targets has been done by the Air Force. But planes, and pilots, are costly ressources - and Russia has learned the hard way that Ukraine are able to defend themselves fairly well against Russia's Air force. So now, most of what Russia is using their air force for is launching missiles from the airspace above Russia where they can feel fairly safe from Ukraines SAM and other AA capabilities...

Nielsen, but for a in depth analysis, it's just great to see another Dane sharing his expertise in such an elegant manner. All to often, when we've seen Danes, especially politicians, talk English, it's been cringe!!!

  9.  @ezekielbrockmann114  Nah, I highly doubt Prigozhin would do this! Prigozhin isn't against the army, he's against the leadership of the army, (and being someone who's been connected to GRU for a very long time by now, he's definitely not happy about FSB either - Girkin on the other hand has very close ties to the FSB - and him and Prigozhin aren't particularly fond of eachother... While everything points to someone opposing RUSSIA, not just opposing some of the top dogs in the Kremlin, being behind this, the only other rational explanation could be a hardliner who SERIOUSLY wants to ramp up the war and try to force Putin to go all in - but I highly doubt that! Prigozhin might be ambitious, but he also knows that going after Putin is still suicide - and he has known Putin for far longer than most of the "Kremlin Oligarch Bratva"... Very early on it was Prigozhin who funded Putin's political career in return for favors for his businesses...

  10. Hi Anders, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on what is happening. I would really love to hear what you think will happen now that Putin has put Sergei Surovikin in charge of the war in Ukraine. My personal thoughts, or perhaps rather fears, is that the war will become even more brutal than it has been, and we will see an even higher disregard of the Rules of War from Russian side, (especially in regards to target civilians), and I think the recent attacks with missiles hitting targets deep within Ukraine is a perfect example of this, but I’m very curious about hearing what your thoughts on this is

Unfortunately our methods are not that effective short term - yes, they are harming Russian economy, but sanctions are long-term measures and we have a hard time getting enough countries aboard - and add to this, we’ve been dragging our feet on the MBT issue, and it seems we might be doing it again on the fighter jets issue. And now Elon Musk has closed down/minimized access to Starlink which has been a very important way of communication! We need to ensure soldiers in Ukraine can communicate, and that they get high value data from our Reconnaissance Satellites ASAP!

  17.  @hansvonlobster1218  It’s hard to tell, but I’m pretty sure that Russia will go at great lengths to keep control over Sevastopol Naval Base - and it’s probably easier for them to just dig down deep and focus on defense, making it a high cost task to gain ground in Crimea. But I will love to be proven wrong in my guess and Ukraine take Crimea before Christmas!

  20.  @MattiasAllring  If you're Scandinavian as your name sort of indicates, you actually do - although indirectly. 😁 It would surprise me a lot if the new strengthened cooperation agreement between the air-forces of the four countries of the Peninsula of Fennoscandia isn't working with information people like Navy Commander Puck Nielsen has been part of analyzing.

China will soon take Russia's place as the third largest distributor of military equipment in the world, and Russia used to be second, (now France is in second place). Will probably take the second place away from France too... Russia has failed to deliver weapons to India, so trust in Russia as an arms dealer will dwindle, this leaves France and China as competitors to the second place. Trust in Russian equipment increased after 2014 Syria, but since 2022 it has been heavily decreased. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Russia is down to a fifth place in 2025.... India will start buying more from Italy or France instead of Russia...

  25.  @JABN97  Nope, I’m pretty sure! While it’s many years ago by now, I used to teach rules of wars when I was in the army! The target is a military target! As long as it goes as planned, it doesn’t hit any civilians! The only reason it didn’t hit its target was that Russia used technological defence to turn them away from the intended target! Thereby causing collateral damage! Had it hit the civilian areas due to mistakes by the Ukrainians it would have been collateral damage due to their actions! Had they hit civilian targets on purpose, it would have been a violation of rules of warM Of course we can debate who’s causing the collateral damage, but as it’s due to actions from the Russians where instead of shooting them down, they turn them around into the direction of civilian areas, then I find it hard to say it wasn’t caused by the Russians themselves, but I’m absolutely willing to hear your argument for why it should be seen as collateral damage caused by the Ukrainians

  26. First and foremost, Ukrainian law would apply! It will not benefit Ukraine to hire PMCs as it would hinder their ability to be accepted into the EU. The reason ChVK Vagnera and similar groups officially are illegal in Russia is that Russia has signed on to international resolutions against the use of mercenaries. The fact that they do it anyways is that, well, it's Russia....

  28. Not just civilians, but care to guess who are attempting to avoid collateral damage on its own population and contrast this with who are forcing the civilians to only flee in ONE direction, (towards areas still controlled by Russia).

  29.  @nian60  I agree on that, and it is a formidable aircraft with some unique capabilities in regards to modern warfare. Although the F16 isn't a bad choice either, and probably will be cheaper due to many countries switching to F35 and so will have F16 they can offer for a fair low price... But I agree that Gripen is a very nice aircraft. Sweden have a history of making great equipment. The CW90, CB90, the Gripen - all great tools...

  32.  @agffans5725  You are clearly missing the point here. But it's all good, as I said, for obvious reasons this isn't something that will get attention as there's an acute need for soldiers. However, it's definitely something more countries who isn't actively involved in a war against a country that has invaded them, should be focusing a lot more on in an attempt to reduce the risk of soldiers getting these kind of injuries...

Where he also said the stuff about "they started it, not us" after taking responsibility for Russia targeting civilian infrastructure. I think it was WION I watched the clip on, it was shared on Twitter - must have been yesterday I watched it, or maybe it was the night before. My sleeping patterns are a bit effed up at the moment...

That being said, having had relatives who both fought against the Russians as volunteers in Finland, and against the Nazis as part of the Danish Resistance Movement, it’s luckily possible to despise both equally much! We almost lost Bornholm to the USSR after the Nazi occupation of my country! Bornholm was occupied by the USSR for nearly 11 months

  40. Hybrid Warfare! It’s warfare waged on multiple fronts including non-confrontational indirect! Cyber warfare is a great example of a component, fake news and using influencers can be part of it too - terror/terrorism and covert operations disguised as such. Having private actors who isn’t officially part of the armed forces of a country engaging in combat is also a great example of Hybrid Warfare! Attempting to undermine political processes in foreign countries through propaganda, bribes, etc., and gain political influence in foreign Parliaments/Governments is also examples of Hybrid Warfare!

  43. You're spot on. I would love hearing his perspectives on the upcoming counter offensive. Especially his estimates on what Ukraine will need to be able to make significant gains. I suspect the war might very well be ongoing a year from now, so it's about time to make sure Ukraine gets access to better aircrafts, more air defense systems, and more Leopard 2.

Then it's lucky for Ukraine that the 24 European countries that have a large munitions industry has all agreed to upscale production significantly - and that it's able to fill the roles of logistics with people to old to be involved in fighting - just as Ukraine is also training a significant number of women! Yeah, I know, wild right - that women can fly a drone and shoot a rifle - who knew... (Yes, that was sarcasm - women can be formidable soldiers)

I would really love to know exactly WHO the "friend" that asked Aleksandr Dugin to ride with him is, how long they’ve been "fiends", and if he is somehow connected to either GRU or FSB! It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the killing of Dugina was "the last warning" to Dugin!
