  1.  @pblakez  Military/Intelligence reconnaissance satellites are very expensive, and the countries that can afford them, are very protective of data, so everything given to Ukraine is often happening with some delay, as it often requires several steps of approval and it will almost never be a live feed! They have several benefits, they usually have spectral imaging, can use radar imaging, and detect communication. But civilian satellites can still do a lot too, a lot of them have brilliant imaging equipment for scientific purpose, and unlike Military/Intelligence Reconnaissance Satellites, access can be bought for money, and will be in real time! So it’s more about finding the available satellites with the best orbit, and having people who are great at analyzing the feed…. Some of the attacks inside Russia was undoubtedly done with the assistance of such data, to make sure they were targeting planes getting ready to take off to deliver missiles against Ukraine…

  2. Also the possibility that Russia will simply change tactics. Dig down, defend Crimea, and send missiles targeting important and perhaps even essential infrastructure in Ukraine! Simply to stall Ukraine, then make a new short offensive and claim they’ve reached their objective and now will focus on "defending Crimea"

  3.  @BartSliggers  Nationalizing ChVK Vagnera would completely undermine the entire purpose with creating it. There's a reason why it has so close ties to GRU. It gets to function as a facade for operations where GRU need deniability. The same goes for their military operations in general - they act outside of the state, but still on the behalf/in the interest of the state!

Yevgeny Prigozhin wouldn't have the business empire he have today if it hadn't been for his long and very close ties to Putin. Of course loyalty isn't always eternal or unconditional - but trying to downplay their relationship is a bit weird...

And you can stop the BS about "NATO occupying Kosova", it's not, it's a UN mandated International Peacekeeping Mission lead by NATO, and even Russia has participated in the mission. 21st Separate Medical detachment, 13th Tactical Group, and 27th Aviation Group had soldiers participate in KFOR for more than 4 years. And during that time some of them was also awarded other medals, example being five soldiers from the 13th Tactical Group that recieved medals for attempting to save the life of a US Army Sgt who had hit an Anti-Tank mine... The Russian soldiers recieved a NATO Medal for Service with NATO on Operations in Kosova, although at the ceremony where it was presented, it was given to then General Major Nikolay Kriventsov. So no more of this BS about "NATO occupying Kosova"! But I'm waiting for your answers to my questions, and if you want a hint, then I've already given the answers in an earlier comment!

  29. It is only Ukrainian SF and possibly a few from the International Legion, although I doubt it. Sure, there are vets who are former SF in the in the International Legion, but from what I understand Ukraine tend to avoid using them inside occupied territory. Don't forget that active duty soldiers attacking Russian soldiers could be seen as an act of war...

  38.  @CNCTEMATIC  There is no future in selling gas to Germany - Russia is getting blocked out! Most of the EU is going for other sources, such as renewable energy! Most if Europe has declared that it don't want to be dependent on gas from Russia anymore. That decision had already been taken before the pipelines were blown up. At the time where the pipelines was blown up, Russia still had a commitment to transport a settled amount of gas to Germany at a fixed price. Delivering that gas would mean that Germany would have sufficient gas, so it was in Russia's interest to stop the gas from flowing, preferably in a manner where they could claim it wasn't their fault and that they wanted to live up to the deal, so they shouldn't receive any fines for not delivering! It really wasn't the asset you believe it to be anymore! It's because you live under the highly flawed assumption that whenever the conflict might end, then it's back to doing business as usual - but it isn't! Europe has learned that Russia can't be trusted and we shouldn't let our energy sector become hostages to the regime in Kremlin!

The former Blackwater, now Academi, was providing personel for Homeland Security during the 2020 BLM protests, where they acted as "federal agents" with next to no accountability. And to put it mildly, a lot happened that they should have been held accountable of! So will we see something similar happen in Russia? Will they be used as a extra layer of "law enforcement" if protests starts being serious? I suspect it's exactly what we will see...

I just recall that Academi had pilots taking part in bombings of civilians in Yemen while working for Saudi Arabia. I also know that there are other companies owned by the same group of people.   49. I’m a bit ambivalent on this issue - I mean, I can fully understand that some Ukrainians are nearly as mad at them as well, because they only react when it’s their own ass on the line! But on the other hand, people living under a regime like in Russia isn’t obligated to fight their government and it's understandable that a lot of people just wanna be left alone, and most certainly isn’t interested in joining a war they don’t believe in! Now Ukrainians doesn’t have the same privilege, there’s a war raging in their country! When this is said, I also think it’s extremely important that we don’t forget the values we claim our society is build upon - and one of these values is also giving sanctuary to people who don’t wanna be forced to fight in a war they genuinely have no wish to be part of! We can’t ignore our responsibilities - and we most certainly shouldn’t ignore the resolutions we’ve signed and ratified regarding human rights - if we do so, then we lose all credibility when we demand that other countries respect and follow International Law and Resolutions! And the only ones who truly deserves ending up as cannon fodder is those holding the regime in Russia in power! It’s dyadya Putin and his Oligarch Bratva - and everyone who support them!

And both of these countries are Western Countries with a higher level of "democracy" than Russia. Look, it's not that I don't get why a lot of people feel some resentment towards Russia and even Russians in general - but being Russian doesn't automatically mean one support everything the regime does! Heck, I have Army friends who refused to go to Iraq, but volunteered for Afghanistan - under the same government, a government some of them had voted for themselves! Do you get the point I'm trying to make? Now I don't know you, but from your name I guess you're either Scandinavian or have roots in Scandinavia. Perhaps even Danish like Anders Puck Nielsen. Let's say that your country started to call in all adults who's served, to send them to war in Iraq - would you have felt okay with that? And if not, would it change how you felt about it, if it was today it happened, with a very different government in charge? Now if you just like me, and a lot of others I know, weren't that convinced by the argument of going to war in Iraq back then, you probably wouldn't be it today either - no matter who's in charge now, or after the next election. And you probably wouldn't be crazy about the thought of the government drafting people, no matter if it's a government you voted for or not!? Am I completely wrong? I can't help thinking that of course it's okay to feel frustrated that they're not fighting for a regime change - but our frustration shouldn't stop us from remembering the values we claim to hold! Now forgive me for writing such s long comment and going of s tangent - but I'm reminded of a story I heard about a meeting Aleksej Navalnyj was attending as part of his election campaign. And one of the people at the meeting came up to him, very excited, and said something along the line of: "All the things you said was really great, and I will definitely vote for you when you have become president!" - did you get it? As I see it, it hits the core of the mindset of many Russians - they will vote for the one who's in power! But that doesn't necessarily means their hearts is in it! Do I make sense?
