Our culture has lost its mojo. We left the plantation and what made blacks so successful in the beginning was UNITY. This God, Family, and Community type of unity that held us together and kept us strong well into the 60s. From the 70s until currently we have been dismantled. Now we measure our life to other's image of us and we gossip about each other with each other. But the kind of UNITY that allowed us to work things out is no longer on the table.

Sometimes we respond from an emotional space. BLM was launched out of emotions. It got support from emotional sponsors. Lebron responds out of compound emotions. Candace speaks for an emotional space that fuels her supporters. People respond back out of being emotionally satisfied. But CHANGE requires sacrifice but we are not emotionally prepared.

We did not have to cross over into the promised land, all we had to do was wake up free Americans and began to pave a way. The black man took God, his family, his community and together built their Home Place in America. These communities all over the country were similar in nature. Their hard work bulilt strong, economically sound areas where they could give God the Glory, enjoy the fruits of their labor, , and celebrate their life as free black people. MLK knows what happened and peace could be the only path. Today the promis land has moved further away because we can not see the forest fot the tree.

Congradulation there. We have to agree to disagree . Look at today's Homeless/poor population. Even if the stars aligned in such a way that all live could work out as yours did we would stll have the same problems. The "I" did it so could/should you is not applicable because there is not enough resources to sustain everyone. That is not an excuess but a fact. Even if this country could provide employment for everyone the cost of living would go through the roof. Candace's attack on welfare has a few flaws. Welfare started in 1934, it provided a hand-up. After the war the GI Bill gave aid to building the Suburbs. With that migration went the total economy. The 1964 welfare program was taken apart by Nixion, Reagan, and Clinton. That program has long since been replaced. But is so often used.

We can play with words to express one side or the other but there are only two options in this debate Pro-Life or Pro-Choice Period. The original decision was brought to the courts by both democrats and republicans and they shared in the struggle. The SCOTUS should be our space where Arbitrary decisions can be made right or wrong good or bad and the end result should be accepted. There should not be a space 50 years down the road for overturning any decision. The states took it to the SCOTUS now 50 years they send it back PLEASE then we do not need the Court if they can not stand firm on any decision. Politics should be void and "We the People" should hold firm if not the SCOTUS should have the final say. But never repeat yourself.

Being a black man and working in there environment I have to say that one of the real issues is make law enforcement an economic instrument to generate revenue. This dose make decision making objective when traveling through zip codes. If we take the industrialization out of law enforcement and replace it with protect and serve we will reduce the negative narrative. We are people who view life from the half empty glass by venture of our programing .

One of the biggest thing we left in the 60s is UNITY. Our UNITY was to aggressive for America so they had to rip it apart. The schools that produce poor students today were once highly productive educational schools for white Americans. I support choice but we should insist the educational system in the United States become the Number one in the world. The children of the 50s and 60s were raised in the face of a civil rights movement that nurtured value. Education was academic and vocational giving the nurturing of children a wider range of potential adult success. The 70s and 80s set the frame for a protest after protest. Now all these well-nurtured children are adults and parents their children are now woke. Today these adults aka your peers are carrying our failures down the road. What "they" are doing is no different than what "you" are doing. The same 50s rhetoric is now the same 2022 rhetoric as a matter of fact.

How did Blacks end up with "black Wall Streets" all over the country? How do we still have HBCUs all over the country? AND when the latter blacks left the south because of treatment how well were they received up north and out west? The biggest thing about being black back then was our UNITY with one another. I concider the 60s our bridge over troubuled waters. We started out with that stroung commitment to each other. But 1963 they removed God from our daliy activities. In 1970 they started a war on drugs. In1983 they planted the streets with drugs and guns. Now the 70 America moved its community, schools, and economic focal point out of the city creating today's inner cities. We may have received our civil rights in this country but all our economic opportunities have been striped down leaving us to fight with each other the same way they once fought with each other. There is no where to run from self but you can escape the missing UNITY that once kept us and just live a solitary happy life since it is so short.

Economic growth has been the main agenda of our last two democratic presidents. LBJ's great society act was not legislation for black people or black women and more white Americans used the legislation than blacks. In fact, the welfare program started in 1934 as a solution to a four-year-long issue. Poverty was the story of the decade and felt by everyone. It would be nice if you would just look at footage from that time. The problem was created by and ignored with the support of the republicans. After four years of nothing FDR came in with a "new deal" it supported all these hungry, homeless, and naked Americans. FDR was elected four times for a reason. However, his efforts did not aid everyone and in 1965 LBJ continued the war on poverty. FDR's war on poverty gave people a hand up but LBJ's war on poverty became a handout. Why? The republicans repeated the same market manipulation of 1929 again in 2008 and again the democratic stepped in to save our conservative free market. Now that "no man" is in the house, well he is in prison, he is on the books, and now he can not vote. But if LBJ"s incentive was to destroy the black family then he had only two years to do it and the republicans had twenty of the twenty-four years before Clinton to change course. Nixion cut parts of LBJ's policies and Reagan killed the rest. Every economic challenge up until 2021 was created by the republicans Every economic success was the result of the democrats. Trump actively changed the narrative with great success. So I can not defend how you have assimilated all your information but up until 2016, it was we the people. Now post Obama it is the left.

@travisadams6279 After the civil war black got into politics as republicans but no women and in many areas no blacks could vote. Welfare started in 1934 as relief for people during the depression. LBJs great society act was successful for many and a failure for others but should no longer be an excuse in 2022. People vote on how things have or would affect them personally. After over 100 years yes things all switched and the mindset of the American people switched as well. But if over half of the white population is still stuck in 1929's poverty along with a large proportion of black and other American groups something else is wrong. wouldn't you say?

The ADC and the 1964 welfare had similar expectations. There has to be more to it and if Reagan, Bush, and Clinton all cut parts of the programs several times and sixty years later we still have problems all I would like to know is How and Why?

If you would look at the UNITY that black people had when they left the plantations the kind of cohesiveness that built strong economic communities all over the country and if you look at the kind of UNITY that was used not to ride a bus. But most of her narrative substracts any element that may put a little accountability to the republicans because she wants the image of being conservative in America to be positive. So she pushes all the shortcomings of black people as democrat-motivated. Nixion took part of LBJ"s act and started a war on drugs. Reagan ended the rest of LBJs legislation and with the use of the CIA created this crack epidemic in the poor communities. She talks about her Grand Dad but Grandma Lessie lived through the riots of 1921 in Tulsa and everything Candace says we should take personal responsibility to be we were. One of the richest black communities in America but not the only one was burned to the ground. I call the 1960s as our bridge over troubled waters. Sadly we gained our civil rights but all economic opportunities shifted. Their reality is there are two sides to our coins but the only truth is what you can add up.

The Democrats elected FDR to four terms for a reason. Even when the economy jumped back to the greatest in the world behind supporting WW2 the returning military was given support for the GI bill to aid in housing and education. FDR's hand up became LBJ's hand out. and blacks beat up all the time behind it. The war on poverty has never been won and the real image of poor people is not black.

If you want to understand what real conservativism is, look at the communities built around the country like the most notable Greenwood district of Tulsa Ok. If you want to see what real conservative value means look at people in the images of fire hoses and dog bite vs the concept of being a patriot.

How is it that you Candace were born in the late 80s and the time of Brown vs the Board of Education and the Civil Rights movement Both showed how the then black conservatives fought for a quality of life for their children and themselves. The unity required carried them all the way from 1865 when they embraced their freedom until the 60s. We still have many HBCUs that started shortly after becoming free. UNITY is the biggest disruption in the black community. Those schools in Baltimore used to teach little white boys and girls. The UNITY required to fix them has been replaced by drugs, guns, reduced wealth, and personal responsibility. Out of all the negative found in the inner cities, we still find great achievements. But the UNITY needed to fix issues is lost in the gossip and rhetoric as we use to point the issues out, but we no longer have the same kind of UNITY that took former slaves to develop communities like "black Wall Street". Try to vacillate over that!

It was Hoover's neglect of blacks during the great depression. Hoovers 300 M and 1B to aid the American people did not make their way to the poorest people. Even the "new deal " failed to drain into the poorest areas. The actions of Jim crow were endorsed by the republicans and never disputed over time. LBJ did not want to run in 1964 but his wife encouraged him to and he did not campaign until after that DNC in Chicago. The AFDC act of 1935 was just added to the war on poverty but we still use it as an excuse for the decline of the black family. Reagan and Clinton dismantled the welfare program. But Nixion began to dismantle the Great society Act. His war on drugs created a foundation for mass incarceration. This is 2022 and the family conditions have not improved. Why is it still the 1964 welfare programs? Our path today has many pros and cons which has brought us to our current circumstances but the biggest result was the ripping apart of our UNITY.

Marijuana is a federal crime but states are winning to make it legal and eventually it will land at the SCOTUS Abortion was a state issue that landed at the SCOTUS. Interracial marriage was a crime and it eventually landed at the SCOTUS. The point is we have a local, state, and federal government that should represent "we the people" and if we can not resolve something we should count on the SCOTUS to be the arbitrator of the debate not take sides on the issue. Your argument is more semantics than due process. We the people have an issue where 70% say Yes and 30% say no the SCOTUS has a responsibility to resolve the issue YES or NO and after 49 years return to maybe which is what they did should be unacceptable to the 70% because of the 30% and the 30% was where the 70 % is today. The SCOTUS should be the arbitrators to come between disputes with the law and we the people. All decisions should be final to end said grievances. The cases you used to reference the overturning of Roe V Wade fall into eyes wide open when they should have been tightly shut. In the 1950 case on education, we should not have had to return 4 years later. Dreed Scoot was resolved with the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 followed by the 13th in 1864 and the 15th amendment in 1865. The court did not overrule their decision. But we can come up with arguments Pro or Con either should not weigh the court down for 49 years because one side did not like the results. This is a YES or No issue Not a kick the can down the road again. Are you aware that Cannabis is going to land at the SCOTUS doorstep? It is traveling through the states as we speak. Much like Gay Rights made their way to the Courts by way of the states. And abortions were also challenged at the state level where multiple description and religious opponents fought the laws. Black people started leaving the part as a result of the great depression and Hoover. What had "the republican party" become? If School Choice means sending a child to an area where a better education can be provided do it. If starting a Charter school inside the community to offer a better education then get one started quickly. There are two schools about 8 miles apart on the same street and the educational results are polar opposite. Makes no sense to me. Every child does not have the same capacity to learn but there was once a huge focus on vocational teaching but funding has wiped them out makes no sense to me. Communities have died out. When I was in school parents were in the school house constantly. Parents became part of the school board. PTA meeting was a part of the focus on the children. The Doctors, nurses, lawyers, businessmen, Preachers and carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and even the current Mayor came out of that community. Sunday mornings meant church, Baseball out in the field, and good eating. There was a harmony that supported the growth of their offspring. Education needs to be repaired and made the number one priority on a local, state, and federal level. But Communities need to be revived, families need to reunite, and most importantly our relationship with God needs to be rekindled.

When you have 13.4% of the American's population are incarcerated at a rate of 5/1 with 39% of all inmates pulled from that 13.4% there seems to be an issue. I use to play cowboy and Indian, cops and robbers, and I had my GI Joe. Some violent crimes are mild in comparison to historical data. Organized crime is alive and well today even if it seems to have gone ghost. I believe there are two ways for police reactive or pro-active. I also believe that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Poverty is the attended suspect. Low-income areas are the usual territories. People at the bottom of the income bracket are most commonly the victims. Fear and desperation are the motivations. If we stop debating the aftermath and concentrate on the prevention maybe we could find more positive conversation. But reducing crime would come as a financial hardship to so many people that it really is not up for consideration. The investment in crime far outweighs any miss-steps.

@robinpesek3657 I am an overcomer. I did not let negative possibilities interfere with my optimism. Even with the "traumas" like my fathers he was just an individual. This tragedy took out entire communities. Then the great depression hits all of America. Of course, blacks struggled some more but still persevered as individuals. But it took black communities down two deep. The war lifted us up but by the end of the war it made us three deep as blacks and another up with the GI Bill for everyone else. The 60s was our bridge over troubled waters but by the end four down for the community. By the 70s and 80s we were sent five deep it made us addicted to drugs, guns, mass incarceration, the graveyard. Still we individuals stand strong and the gangster took on a new image. "Non-White" aka 6 down. In short as individuals we are doing what we need to do. But as a community, if we can not find it within ourselves to manifest the same kind of unity that lead my father's father to build all those positive communities around the country in the beginning we will forever be just "I" doing what we need to do while still talking about being a victim as a community. And, we will blame communities for a lack of responsibility.

First LBJ had first hand knowledge of how the GOP has ignored the black comminity since 1865 even when the black community left the planation republicians. Setting aside all the other atrocities by Hoover's administration ignoring the struggles for black people during the great depression is when the some black began to fall off but still stayed with GOP, Eisenhower's lack of the education issue and civil rights Kings' ( a conservative republican) attempts went unheard. Kennedy - Johnson started the relationship with King and the wins took six long years. The real issue is why did he say that?

@listener523 1865 was in reference to freeing the slaves and the end of the war. Republican MLK and GOP president Eisenhower could not even discuss civil rights. Kennedy was much in favor of the topic. LBJ refuses to talk about it so King said ok "we are on our wat to Montgomery" and that bloody Sunday changed LBJ. Now tell me this how can legislation be so beneficial for some Americans and so destructive for others.

@keithdomin5015 Since people switched parties after the civil rights movement that makes sense. Half the country was racist but bloody Sunday changed LBJ. I will give Hoover some credit his infrastructure and relief act did help some people but blacks were at the bottom of his support. FDR's new deal did change things around but still, blacks were at the bottom of the aid.

What we have done is forgotten is all the efforts applied by our free black men and women wow walked away with strong conservative values. And who's efforts should the country how UNITY really works. What Candace has done is established a negative narrative that has drawn attention but is blinded by the left and leaving the other side void of any culpability. Freedom has allowed black people to build HBCUs. They also built strong economically sound communities all across this land and yet we have become victims of the left even with so much time given to( I hate to say it) " the right"

When you look at the conservative black man that left the plantation and without any animosity toward their owners' they forged a life for themselves. With God, Family, and community together they built economically strong communities all over this country. Men like Candace's grandfather were all we had and their wisdom held the idea of freedom together. Then came the pharaohs.

@Randy-md6xl Yes and no! We should all be accountable for our actions when faced with judgment. Justices should be and remain blind. Is it? There can never be equality because there are too many variables to ever make that possible. Black people are highly successful today yet your image is those at a lower standard. The truth is Americans are at a lower standard but you see black. Nope! almost 40% of homeless people are white. almost 50% of all whites receive some sort of government assistance but are angered at any support given to black Americans because of the negative publicity.

Donald Trump was a conservative-liberal while in office. Now we have total conservative thinking on the surfus but on the DL we are still are a liberal too. we want our cake and eat it too. A farmer has learned to produce seedless produce. so the 1,000s has been limited to one. The conservative marketplace looks for ways to increase its margins of profit the biggest ways are product cost and labor. We are not looking at real poverty since that has not changed since 1929 we are using the subject to condemn Democrats or Candace's "the left" movement.

@InvisibleCitizen If you would take an honest look at how people escaped the clutches of that 1929 poverty experience, or look at the growth of America after ww2 that raised people up and erected the suburban community. You will come to the conclusion it was the American people helping the American people through taxes. Now that prosperity has moved forward another generation, and they look at poverty the same poverty that goes back to 1929 as the result of lazy unmotivated people. If you look at the whole picture of those who "siphon" off the work of others it is the same people bi-bassed when poverty struck everyone. The fact is they are being used to keep our economy stable. Every week the government sends out an injection into the economy through all sorts of aid. But it is not an exploitation of working people it is a tool to keep working people working.
