@Este1519 wrong as always... the only two buddies embracing each other before (and after) were USSR and third Reich. Definitely it was not the countries you are suggesting were buddies. Poland has every right to call Russian lies as Russia is responsible for enabling nazis to attack Poland and took part in that attack.

@tomfu6210 advisory or adversary? It’s a ‘tiny’ difference! Germans were cooperating with USSR long before WWII! Unlike anybody else as communistic state was in an international isolation - that’s why the two pariahs decided to cooperate!

Ad hominem is when an interlocutor states that your arguments are irrelevant BECAUSE you are ‘this’ and ‘this’ and ‘that’. Like you attempted it with ‘antisemitism’ towards my statement about Jews welcoming Germans and commies in 1939 because what I stated are undeniable facts. That was an ‘ad hominem’ argument in its purest form! I am not doing this. First of all - I am not argumenting against you because your statements about 1919/1920 war are pure nonsense. @possumGFX you are lacking historical data regarding ‘private’ state of German companies under Hitler. I don’t remember which one (I think it was Junkers) tried to oppose the plans of ministry of war. He was quickly ‘freed’ of his ability to control his company. The rest of the ‘owners’ noticed quickly and understood the message. Ok nazi commies differed from red commies in such that they have not murdered the owners - just deprived them of all the influence upon ‘their’ businesses as well as strategical decision making...

It was not Danzig that was important. What mattered was Polish corridor to Danzig and most of all the fact that Germany had to pay huge custom taxes to Poland transport anything to eastern Prussia. These customs were like 1/5 of Polish state budget (Poland was very poor) and Germany were very poor so they wanted an exteritorial highway to Gdansk - of course Poland was not willing to agree...

@srelma also - Polish army was tooled to fight against Russians - had western powers allied with Russia - Poland would have probably be left without a choice and had to ally with Germany. The whole west perceived Poland as German ally in the late 1930! The whole 1939 was spent negotiating with Poland not to go with Hitler and that is why British guarantee to Poland was given.

@dennisweidner288 I am not aware of any accusations of Czechs in relation to atrocities of Germans. I learnt at school that Hitler took Sudeten (I refuse to call it Sudetenland same as I refuse calling Gdańsk ‘danzig’) in order to protect German minority. Which was explained as bogus claim of course. I learnt from neonazies online that they claim Poland was murdering Germans before the war, that Poland was being run by bolsheviks and that Polish NKVD assaulted Gliwice radio station and other nonsense. These lowlifes must be repeating propaganda their grandparents read in sturmer in 1930’.... Probably the same smearing campaign was run against Czechoslovakia - Russia is still using the same against Ukraine......

Well - the corridor was partially a reason. We are all taught about Gdansk and the corridor without decent economical explanation. Polish corridor was cutting off eastern Preussia and Germany had to pay huge customs fees to Poland for all goods being moved there - it was so much that these fees contributed to like 1/5 of Polish budget. So - money!!!!

German economy could be saved for another year or two by overtaking Poland and enslaving its population, overtaking its 105 tonnes of gold - same goes for Austria and Czechoslovakia... Capisce? It also opened way towards west and provided him with Czech and Polish armament factories that were crucial for his next endeavours (especially Czech ones) It’s never to late to educate yourself - try it!

@scaleyback217 I agree with you that it was impossible for UK to help Poland in 1939 by moving troops to Poland, however - attack from the west was an option. Brits decided to play it safe and buy some time, throwing Poles under the bus. Pilsudski warned French and Britons about the situation with Hitler and proposed a preventive war against Germany in 1934 - idiots in the west decided the danger is not big enough to pacify Germans - well they paid a lot five years later...
