  8. Why did UKRAINE attack DONBAS in 2014? Because the latter refused to accept the 22Feb2014 coup when elected President Yanukovich was replaced with unelected Turchinov. It was Saturday and Yanukovich was having a day off in Kharkov. The new unelected Turchinov ordered Aviation and tanks to attack DONBAS. That's how the war started! 22Feb2022 the DONBAS leaders asked for Russian troops to come to help them. Hence we have a hot phase of the conflict now
