  1. I'm a "privileged" White man who left America 4 years ago and moved to Vietnam. I can honestly say that I feel more welcome, more appreciated and much more comfable as an immigrant living in a predominately Asian country than I did in the US. I truly feel sorry for those I left behind.

  3.  @redwoodtrail  In my experience the biggest differenced between the US and Vietnam is that the Vietnamese people do not think of themselves as victims. I've travelled from one end of the country to the other and I have not met a single person who expressed any anamosity tword me regarding the war; and I have talked to people who lost family members in the war. Most people don't mention it. If I bring it up they all respond by saying "It's in the past". Wouldn't it be nice if Americans were so forgiving.

  13. China is, by far, the biggest carbon emmitting country on the planet. They continue to build new coal burning power plants and have increased coal imports. Furthermore, even though China is the world's 2nd largest economy, has nuclear weapons and maintains a space program that competese with the US, they have been given "developing Nation" status which exemps them from the strict climate regulations imposed on Western countries. Why don't these climate activists ever say anything about China?

  19. I'm an American living in Vietnam. I can assure you that the Vietnamese people are very proud of their country and that they enjoy virtually all the freedoms you do. If this were China or N Korea your concerns would be valid. However, Vietnam is much different than those cesspools of oppression to our north.

  30.  @SergeantExtreme  My friend, Larry, didn't have a criminal record either. He was a white suburban dad just like me. The police shot him in his own back yard. He fell to the ground dead somewhere between the swimming pool and the kid's swing set. What do you think about THAT?

  34.  @DankKrank  My idea of patriotism is to work to restore the good name of my country by helping to clean up the mess created by the selfish and cowardly acts of our former leaders. That's why I have left the US and dedicated the rest of my life to the people of Vietnam. If you think that's taking the easy way out then you've obviously never tried teaching English to a class of 60+ elementary school children with nothing to work with but a black board an a piece of chalk.

  40. This happened in the town of Burlington, Massachusetts. It should be noted that Burlington was one of the towns that fought in the first battle of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775. I'm glad to see that a new generation of patriots is emerging in the "Birthplace of America" to counter the tyrrany of wokeness that has gripped our country. Ripping up pride propaganda is no different than dumpping tea into Boston harbor. All REAL Americans should rejoice in this courageous act of patriotism.   46.  @Bugsy_R  I've got news for you. Your family members are not safe in N Korea. If a family member is "convicted" of a "crime" then you will be forced to watch their execution. Furthermore, authoritarianism and police overreach do nothing to reduce hunger or eliminate government handouts.
