As an American man who moved to Vietnam nearly 4 years ago, I just want to say that it was like I had died and gone to heaven when I discovered the dating scene in Vietnam. Vietnamese women are beautiful, charming, delightful, respectful, intaxicatingly sexy and, unlike American women, they don't hate men. I found getting dates as easy as getting wet in the rain, and I'm not talking about "paid dates" (if you want that then go to Thailand). No need for dating sites, and I avoided the bars. I found amazing young women eager to talk to me everywhere I went. Eventually, I found the woman of my dreams and we got married. I am now happier than I ever thought possible and I have no plans to ever return to America. So, if you're a frustrated, lonely man in America you need to know that there are better options for you in other countries.

@TheJ602 In the USA I was neither good looking nor rich. However, here in Vietnam I'm both. Different cultures preceive people differently.

@josefarrington I'm 5 ft, 11 inches tall, White and I was 58 years old when I first came to Vietnam. I turn 63 next month and the women are still after me even though I'm married.

@Sommers234 I would suggest visiting Vietnam. You can get a 30 tourist visa. Air fare is expensive but once you get everything else is very inexpensive, and I guarantee that you won't be lonely.

@jackytang3683 From my perspective as an American expat living in Vietnam, I would say the biggest problem Vietnamese guys face is that they are spoiled by their mothers. Here in Vietnam, mothers do everything for their sons (cooking, laundry, shopping, managing money etc.) while Vietnamese girls are expected to do all those things for themselves. Consequently, when Vietnamese guys look for a wife, they are actually looking for a woman to replace their mother. Many Vietnamese woman I've met say they don't feel appreciated by Vietnamese men so they turn to Western men who are more attentive to their needs and value their happiness more than Vietnamese men do. While Vietnamese women are more than happy to take care of their husbands, they also appreciate a man who will take care of them as well. My advice is to cook a meal for your Vietnamese girlfriend and she will marry you tomorrow.
