In another case that was shared, I don't believe she's part of this lawsuit, her baby died in the womb. She was refused any medical intervention and was sent home from the hospital 3 times. She was forced to delivered her deceased fetus herself and promptly started hemorrhaging. She too almost died. Now she and her husband are afraid to try to have another baby. They already have a son and he almost became motherless. The hands of the medical professionals she sought help from were tied and couldn't offer her the appropriate healthcare. Politicians have no business practicing medicine without a license. In many states they jumped on the bandwagoon of no exceptions even in the case of rape and women are made to wait until they are on the verge of dying for the medical care they need. In some cases the damage being caused to their reproductive organs is so severe that may never be able to have a baby that their family desperately wants. This is what's being left out of this news report. This is why the demand to answer a hypothetical question regarding a bill that I very much doubt is even a real thing and if it is, it doesn't have a chance of passing. Even Democrats would vote against it. Not answering Sen Kennedy's question was appropriate, because it's not even a real thing. It's just smoke and mirror's to deflect from the harm, the very real harm, that is happening to women and girls in states where draconian laws have been passed. Don't even get me started on the mass exodus of OB/GYN's who are leaving the states that won't allow them to treat their patients who are high risk, suffering serious complications and putting their lives at great risk.

I don't appreciate Sen Kennedy's grandstanding, nor the comments criticizing these women's response to such grandstanding. He knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how to word it with false claims about what is really going on. The women in the lawsuit were put at serious risk of death and turned away from receiving appropriate medical care. They deeply wanted the babies that they lost. And suffered horribly as the care they needed was withheld from them. Not because it was inappropriate medical intervention. No. It was because their doctors were afraid they would be at risk of arrest or losing their license. Their hands were tied. When I was expecting my two children, I was told in no uncertain terms that if my water broke, even if contractions had not started yet, to go to the hospital due to the risk of infection. This did happen with my second child and I was induced to start contractions although he was premature, it would put both he and I at serious risk had they not induced. Once the amniotic sack breaks, it doesn't fix itself with a nevermind. This was the situation with two of the women suing. Their water broke and they were not induced. One woman spent months as her baby died inside of her in excruciating pain, the other developed sepsis within 3 days as her baby died inside her and she almost died herself. Sen Kennedy was out of line, out of touch, disrespectful and dishonest. If you support him, I have some prime swamp land to sell you in Louisiana.
